It's just around the corner. Almost a year since resident musician Molly O'Brien made her debut on board Spirit of Tasmania. Have a read or listen to our blog story from October 2024 that found Molly in quite a dilemma!

Enjoy Tassie gems performing on the ship. Make your way to Deck 9, Terrace Lounge Bar tonight.

Imagine your first gig at sea on a ferry sailing between Tasmania and Victoria in the month of October. The night skies surprise with aurora light shows… pinks, greens, reds and purples…and the wind blows to the tune of the roaring forties. Welcome to Bass Strait Ms Molly O’Brien. 3-night arti...

A huge thank you from the ‘No Place Like Home’ project to all participants, attendees, and our incredible GoFundMe donors — we did it!

We’ve received so many requests to bring this interactive theatre experience back because it creates joy, connection, and equal access to the arts for many who don’t usually have the opportunity.

Our GoFundMe campaign received generous contributions from 3 donors to now bring us just short of $205. On behalf of the artists, thank you so much. https://gofund.me/7e13d828

With the experience that we will deliver tomorrow at Dementia Friendly Cafe, the spirit of our model approach is no different to the Carnival of the Here and Now.

We disrupt traditional notions of status, blurring the line between audience and performer.

We create shared, meaningful experiences—each nuance of exchange carrying intention. Sometimes intimate, sometimes sparking curiosity that invites others to join.

Our collective mindset leaves room for play, for surprise, for small, delightful moments.

Sincere warmth, humanity, and care move between each and every one of us.

In this moment of now, everybody in the room is a king, a queen — sovereign, seen, and celebrated.

Here is a precious memory of Carnival of the Here and Now:

David is featured singing in this short clip that includes dementia friendly Connect Cafe patrons talking about the value of their community.

David is one of the artists being paid for the No Place Like Home project. Our GoFundMe campaign is raising funds to ensure artists are paid for their work

The project is being self funded by Chris Mead. Chris is administrating the campaign funds to go directly to artists involved and paying for all additional expenses.

Artists perform on Tuesday. Any donations via the campaign to assist this unique Connect Cafe experience is very much appreciated.

This morning we give a very special thanks to:

Jas Rocca
Alexandra Morse

Our event is Tuesday May 20th and we are 75% closer to the target which is amazing.

If you value access to the arts for people who do not have opportunities to experience a theatre play, you may consider donating to the artists creating the work.

Chris Mead is fundraising to pay artists to co-create a theatre experience with members of a dementia friendly cafe in Ulverstone, Tasmania.
