Every Tuesday brings a delightful surprise at the hub—and this week was no exception.😃

Stephen proudly showcased his impressive craftsmanship, carefully sewing on a selection of unique and colourful buttons (we especially love the octopus! 🐙). His attention to detail and creativity are evident in every piece he creates during the arts and crafts activity.

Even better, he’s promised to teach us his special technique next week — using crochet thread to make sure those buttons stay strong and secure! 🧵✨

⚠️ Measles Alert Notification ⚠️

We have been notified of a confirmed case of measles in the community. Measles is a highly contagious viral illness that spreads through coughing and sneezing.

What to watch for:
• Fever
• Runny nose
• Red, watery eyes
• Cough
• Followed by a red rash that usually starts on the face and spreads

What you should do:
• Check your vaccination status – the MMR vaccine provides strong protection
• Monitor for symptoms, especially if you’ve recently been in public places
• Seek medical advice if symptoms develop (call ahead before visiting a clinic)
• Keep unwell children and yourself at home to prevent spread

Important: Infants, pregnant women, and people with weakened immune systems are at higher risk of complications.

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is advising people to be alert for signs and symptoms of measles after being notified of a confirmed case.
