A gentle reminder that you matter, not just the support you give, the roles you fill, or the responsibilities you carry.

Self-care isn’t selfish. It’s essential. It can look like taking five deep breaths before a busy day. Saying “no” without guilt. Going for a walk, having a cry, or asking for help. It’s listening to what your body, mind, and spirit need - and honoring that without apology.

For the carers, participants, support workers, and every human in between: You deserve rest. You deserve joy. You deserve care.

New to the NDIS and not sure where to begin? Here’s your step-by-step guide to getting started:

1️⃣ Check if you’re eligible
Head to the NDIS website and use the eligibility checklist. It looks at your age, residency, and how your disability affects your everyday life.

2️⃣ Submit an Access Request Form (ARF)
Once you know you’re eligible, you can apply by filling out the ARF online, over the phone, or in person. This form gives the NDIS the info they need to assess your situation.

3️⃣ Meet with a Local Area Coordinator (LAC) or NDIS Planner
If your application is successful, you’ll have a planning meeting to chat about your goals, needs, and the kind of support that will help you live life on your terms.

4️⃣ Start your plan
Once your plan is approved, you’ll be able to access the supports and services included , whether that’s therapy, equipment, transport, or daily living help.
