Who can do Yoga?
Everyone can do Yoga!
Yoga is about your health and wellbeing, making time to nurture the body, mind and emotions.
The gentle postures, breathing techniques and relaxation will make you feel more energised, calm and relaxed.
You can start practicing Yoga at any age and at any stage of life.
You start where you feel comfortable as Yoga is non-competitive.
You learn to listen to the needs of your body, progressing at your own pace.
What do you do in a Yoga class?
Every Yoga class is tailored to suit the needs of the students. You can expect each class to include three aspects:
1. Yoga Postures (Asanas)
Hatha Yoga is a gentle way of stretching your body, focussing on proper alignment and breathing, with breaks between poses. You practice at your own pace while listening to the needs of your body. Move gently into the posture and experience what is happening within.
2. Breathing Practices (Pranayama)
Breathing practices assist in calming the mind and decreasing tension. Concentration improves so you can become more focused. This also helps to prepare the mind and body for relaxation.
3. Relaxation
Deep relaxation allows the body to rest so that natural healing can take place. After this practice you will feel calm, relaxed and more energised.
