Netballers! 🚨 We know that the game is tough on your body but treating injuries the right way can be the difference between a quick recovery and a long season off the court.

We’ve wrapped up the most common injuries and exactly how to avoid them this season:

🦶 Ankle Sprains:
— Invest in good-quality shoes with strong ankle support.
— Incorporate balance training
— Strap or brace if you have a history of ankle instability

🦵 Knee Injuries (including ACL tears):
— Work on strengthening your glutes, hamstrings and quads
— Practice controlled landings
— Include agility drills to mimic game-like movement

✋ Finger Injuries
— Always warm up your hands and fingers before games
— Use taping techniques for added support
— Practice proper catching technique to reduce jamming

🦶 Achilles Tendinopathy
— Gradually increase your training intensity - don't overload too quickly!
— Stretch your calves and achilles pre and post-game
— Add calf strengthening exercises to your routine

🧎 Lower Back Pain
— Strengthen your core with planks, bridges and controlled leg movements
— Use proper posture during both training and gameplay
— Stay mobile with dynamic warm-ups and regular stretching
