Congratulations to Dr Jock Martel who has hung up his stethoscope 🩺 for the final time in the medical centre πŸ₯

Jock has served our community for the past 45 years giving his time and dedicated to doing what was right for the patient.

Personally he has been a fount of knowledge since asking me to take over his practice 6 years ago. In return I was finally able to give him an exit strategy. Back then Jock said he would wind down, I remember him saying "well 40 hours a week is a lot less compared to what I was doing."

On behalf of doctors, nurses, patients and their families, thanks Jock for your service βš•οΈ. Wishing you and Denise a wonderful, very well deserved holiday.

Two doses of either COVID-19 vaccine provides over 90% prevention of hospitalisation and death from COVID-19.

β€’ If you’re 60+ and have not been vaccinated, please book a vaccination appointment with your doctor now.
β€’ If you have had your 1st dose of AstraZeneca and your 2nd dose is more than 4 weeks away, ask your GP if you should bring your appointment forward. This will give you protection sooner.
β€’ If you're 40-59 and haven't been able to book a Pfizer vaccine appointment, please discuss your circumstances with your GP now. You may be offered the AstraZeneca vaccination. NSW Health vaccination clinics are also giving the AstraZeneca vaccine to people who are 40 and over.
β€’ If you’re 18-39 and would like to get the AstraZeneca vaccine, please talk to your doctor.

AstraZeneca is readily available across NSW including at NSW Health vaccinations clinics. For your closest clinic, use the eligibility checker:

A big reason for moving back to Penshurst to work was to be more connected to the community. I like the fact I live, work and worship in the same suburb.

I'm more than happy to help our parish by advising on an evolving situation and looking after our community πŸ™Œ Though I did prefer my suggestion for our WhatsApp group to be called "COVID Crusaders" βš•οΈβœοΈ 🀣

We wanted to express gratitude and thanks to all the nurses, doctors and health care workers and support staff helping to care for the community and keep us safe at this extra difficult time of pandemic.
Special call out today to those members of our parish who work with compassion caring for people - Monica, Marc, Adrian, Antonia, Lormie and many others…
You are in our prayers!

Let’s give them a πŸ‘πŸΌ
