🗣️ From single sounds ➡️ full conversations 💬
That’s the articulation hierarchy in action!

Speech pathologists guide children through each stage — helping them hear, produce, and practice their target sounds in fun, meaningful ways. 🎯

We start small (like isolating a single sound) and gradually build to using that sound in words, phrases, and real conversation. Each step strengthens clarity, confidence, and communication success! 🌟

🗣️ Did you know your mouth is a finely tuned instrument?

Our articulators — the lips, tongue, teeth, soft palate, and jaw — work together to shape every sound we make.
When one of these parts isn’t coordinating effectively, speech clarity can be affected.

✨ In speech pathology, we assess and support how these articulators move and work together to help clients produce clear, confident speech!

💜 DLD Awareness

Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) affects about 1 in 14 Australian children — yet many people haven’t heard of it.

Children with DLD may find it hard to understand instructions, express their ideas, or use the right words.
With early support from a speech pathologist, children with DLD can build confidence and communication for life 🌟

Book sharing is a wonderful tool for nurturing early communication skills in infants. Whether you point out and discuss the illustrations, read the words aloud, or create your own story based on the pictures, these shared reading moments provide rich opportunities for conversation, vocabulary growth, and imagination. Engaging with books from an early age lays the foundation for a lifelong love of language and learning. 📖✨

AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) doesn’t delay or inhibit speech and language development — it unlocks them. For individuals who struggle with verbal communication, AAC provides a vital pathway to express themselves, build relationships, and engage with the world. Research consistently shows that using AAC supports, rather than hinders, speech development. Communication isn’t just about talking — it’s about being heard
