SUPPORTING HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS.
NuCare Foundation was honoured to be invited to attend the recent Leeming ESC Parent Expo alongside Fremantle CBC All Abilities Football Club.

Rocky Amatulli (NuCare Partnerships Manager) and Kyle Anthony (NuCare Support Staff Manager) joined Heather Timms from Fremantle CBC to showcase our LifeSkills Academy programs and other services that NuCare offers, to parents and students.

NuCare Foundation is a very proud sponsor and supporter of the Fremantle CBC All Abilities Football Club and all the hard work that Heather Timms puts into promoting not only her club, but also WA All Abilities Football.

Our thanks also extend to Leeming ESC and Louisa who does a magnificent job at the school, helping students with special needs find pathways towards independence after they leave school.

ALL ABILITIES FOOTBALL SEASON 2025 IS ON!
A few weeks ago, Ralph Nunis (NuCare Foundation CEO) and Rocky Amatulli (Partnerships Manager) attended the Coolbinia Falcons Integrated All Abilities Football Club's Season 2025 gurnsey presentation night.

It was a particularly special evening for both NuCare and the club, because NuCare Foundation became a Season 2025 Sponsor for the club.

Coolbinia Falcons is now the third All Abilities football club that NuCare Foundation sponsors.

On Saturday April 26th, the first games for the season were played. Coolbinia just happened to be playing against Curtin Uni Wesley...and this was a NuCare 'grudge match' because Ralph helps out Curtin Uni Wesley on field but Rocky does the same for Coolbinia Falcons. Fortunately for Rocky, the match was held at Coolbinia's temporary home ground and that Coolbinia won on the day.

Regardless of who won or lost, it was an enjoyable and well contested game for both sides and a great opener to what will no doubt be another great season of All Abilities Football.

NUCARE MORLEY HERB GARDEN PROJECT WITH BUNNINGS
Yesterday, some NuCare Foundation staff were joined by a group of our LifeSkills Academy CAP (Community Activities Program) attendees and by Sherri from Bunnings to install a Herb Garden at our Morley house.

NuCare staff Kyle, Megan, Connor and Laura were joined by both the Leeming and Morley NuCare Foundation CAP (Community Activities Program) attendees, and also by Sherri from bunnings....so there were plenty of hands on deck for the project.

the weather was slightly warm, but a fresh breeze helped make the work easier.

In a few hours a section of paving was converted to two wonderful herb gardens. We are now growing herbs (and some vegetables) in our new beds and will be able to use them in our Cooking & Nutrition classes (that for a part of NuCare's LifeSkills Academy programs) which are also held at the home.

A huge thank you to Sherri and Bunnings and also the energetic group from NuCare Foundation

NUCARE LEEMING HERB GARDEN PROJECT WITH BUNNINGS
Last Friday, some NuCare Foundation staff were joined by a group of our LifeSkills Academy CAP (Community Activities Program) attendees and by Brodie from Bunnings to install a Herb Garden at our Leeming house.

The herbs grown there will be used by many of the same attendees (and others) for our Cooking & Nutrition sessions, also held at the house.

Our gratitude goes to NuCare's Laura, Meagan, Connor Cridge and Kyle Anthony , and our CAP attendees that day.

Also, a huge thanks to Bunnings Warehouse Australia and Brodie for their participation and contribution to this important project for
NuCare Foundation.

Next week we will do the same at our Morley house. Stay tuned for photos of that day....

ANOTHER PRODUCTIVE MEETING
NuCare Foundation CEO, Ralph Nunis and NuCare Foundation Partnerships Manager, Rocky Amatulli met up with NuCare Foundation Patron, Professor Lyn Beazley on Tuesday morning for conversations about recent NuCare activities (for example the NuCare-Bunnings initiative which saw two groups of NuCare's Community Activity Program assemble and paint a Bunnings cubby house in store as part of a Christmas competition which will see a deserving family win the cubby house) and developments with the Lyn Beazley Academy.

Professor Beazley has been championing the Lyn Beazley Academy which opens in 2025, and similarly to NuCare, this organisation is devoted to "fostering a community where autism is understood, embraced and harnessed to achieve personal empowerment, social inclusion and economic potency".

We spent a few hours brainstorming how both organisations can work more closely to help create more accepting and supporting environments and programs which lead towards independence for young people with Autism.

So why are we all grinning in this photo? Well, it's because we came up with some 'light bulb moments' which will mean opening up prospects for even more young adults to obtain careers in more highly skilled (and better paid) vocations on their journey towards their independence.

But we'll tell you more about that in 2025........

NUCARE - BUNNINGS ALLIANCE ACTIVITY DAY.
Today, a group of NuCare's CAP (Community Activity Program) visited Bunnings O'Connor to assemble a timber Cubby House.
Whilst this might not seem a particularly important event, it is, because Bunnings will put the Cubby House up as a prize for Christmas for one of its lucky shoppers.
So, because the Cubby House will no doubt go to a deserving family, NuCare Foundation wanted to be involved in the project.
Brodie from Bunnings helped us read through then instructions, identify the parts, and then assemble the Cubby House. Our team worked well together and I am happy to report that the whole cubby was assembled in just over an hour!
This successfully completes Stage 1 - Assembly.
Tomorrow another group from NuCare Foundation CAP will undertake Stage 2 - Painting.
Our thanks go to Bunnings and Brodie for organising this project for NuCare to participate in!
Stay tuned for more photos tomorrow night......

NUCARS FOR NUCARE
Yesterday was a milestone day for NuCare Foundation as CEO Ralph Nunis and Partnerships Manager Rocky Amatulli picked up NuCare's new (well not brand new, but new for us) cars!
Ralph and I could not resist the temptation of taking them down to Bibra Lake on the way to Leeming house for an artistic photoshoot to commemorate the event!
Thanks to Go Graphics for their patience, attention and wonderful job they did in helping us transform two white cars to beautifully branded vehicles that we are proud of. A huge thanks to NuCare's Graeme P for his artistic vision and mockups prior to Go Graphics getting involved for the final design development.
We hope that you will see our two cars on the road during our Community Activity Programs running from our Morley and Leeming houses.

CURTIN UNIVERSITY WESLEY ALL ABILITIES FOOTBALL CLUB WINDUP 2024

Last Saturday, NuCare Ceo Ralph Nunis, NuCare Cooking Program Manager George Domville and I, were privileged to attend the Curtin Uni Wesley All Abilities Football Club windup for 2024.
Energy and tensions ran high as the medal count for Fairest & Best Player was reviewed game by game.

There were also some milestone games played in the 2024 season which were celebrated during the presentation.

Topped off with a guest appearance from West Coast Eagles player Jeremy McGovern followed by a sumptuous lunch at the home ground club rooms, the day was a resounding success and very enjoyable.

Well done to all the 2024 season players, coaches, supporters and families......and of course to the recipients of the awards, especially the winner of the 2024 Fairest & Best winner, Connor O'Neil

NuCare Foundation is proud to have sponsored the club during the 2024 season and looks forward to a continuing partnership in the 2025 season.
