My Story

I am an experienced yoga teacher who provides gentle Hatha yoga for individuals and corporate clients at their place of work or residence. Originally from a corporate background I hope that students find some inner stillness and vitality as I have through gentle hatha yoga through times of ill-health and also wellness. I have over 7 years experience teaching yoga and a Diploma of Yoga Teaching (Nature Care College, Sydney). My clients range from university students and staff, private companies, through to people in the community.

My philosophy centres on yoga that is gentle, inclusive and maintainable over a lifetime. What is Hatha yoga? Hatha literally translates as “sun, moon” yoga and is probably the most commonly practiced yoga in the west. “Yoga” means union in Sanskrit. It is very ancient and with most yoga practices has increasing relevance today: yoga postures, help build strength while increasing flexibility & mobility; breathing and meditation also help create mindfulness and relieve stress.

Why one-to-one yoga? Yoga from ancient times has been taught as a one-to-one practice in consultation with the student. I believe that yoga can be tailored to the individual rather than the other way around so small groups and individuals is where I put my focus.
