Every year in Australia, approximately 1,650 infants and children aged 0–17 die. Behind every number is a grieving family whose world has been shattered.

Right now, bereaved parents are only entitled to 10 Medicare-subsidised therapy sessions a year. This is the same allocation given for mild to moderate conditions. Ten sessions is nowhere near enough for the most catastrophic loss a parent can experience.

Other Australians facing crisis receive more. People with eating disorders can access extended sessions, and during COVID-19 every Australian was granted 20 sessions in recognition of the widespread mental health impact. Parents who lose a child? Just 10.

This inequity leaves thousands of grieving families navigating trauma with inadequate support, forced to choose between their mental health and putting food on the table.

That’s why our founders, Aliyah’s parents, have launched a national petition calling on the Australian Government to increase Medicare-subsidised therapy support for bereaved parents.

Please sign and share to stand with bereaved families across Australia. Together, we can create change.

Anne's life began with a ride home from the hospital in the sidecar of her father's Harley Davidson. It was her heartfelt wish that her final journey be the same.

Special thanks to our friends at Caskets & Chrome for their assistance in helping us honor Anne's final wish, ensuring her last ride was as unique and personal as her first.
