A chat, a check-in, a vent, a catch up. At times we all need a safe space to chat with someone we trust. By getting things 'out in the air', being heard, connecting with someone can make a big difference to our wellbeing. Connecting with others can make a pivotal change to our day, week, month, year.
By holding space for someone, even if for a moment, can help others freely think, feel, focus, and reassess their actions and feelings.
It is also vitally important to seek someone you trust to hear you also. it can ease your stress levels and concerns. Easing someone's burdens can start with R U OK?. Being heard gives our bodies and minds the chance to re-regulate, we begin to think clearly and feel calm again.
If you feel that the person you can trust also appears burdened, speaking with a professional can bring you a sense of freedom to be you. You can focus on the important things, and your relationships can be in the 'here & now'. You can develop skills to navigate those invisible holdbacks often in our way when 'taking on the world', building healthy relationships and navigating forever changing environments.
