Your Beat Music HQ We are a bright, fun Music Studio, for children and Adults with disabilities. Rest assured that I do. I am not a dry teacher.

Helen has spent 17 years in the disability sector and a decade of being a Specialist Music Teacher in schools, but has decided to combine her careers to open this studio. We welcome children and adults with ALL disabilities, as Music is a universal language. Frederick Neitzsche once said “When words fail, Music speaks”....and that is so true, especially for children who can’t communicate. Growing up with a sister who had cerebral palsy and was profoundly deaf, I would go along to the disco’s they would hold at Mosman School for the Deaf....some of the BEST discos of my life...because they can “feel” the music. It’s also an international language...used by every culture, in every country, region, city, town or desert...and it can be traced back to ancient civilizations as a way to convey stories. Children and adults with disabilities often get turned away from “regular” music schools as the staff don’t always understand how to teach it to people with disabilities. Each and every client I have will be having so much fun that they’ll not realise that they’re learning while having fun. I use humour, laughing at myself when I make a mistake, I laugh WITH the kids when we’re doing all of the fun stuff because their happiness is SUCH a beacon of light. And I cry happy tears when they put on a performance of everything they’ve learnt during the term. After what was a terrible year for our family last year, 2026 is bursting with new opportunities and ideas for anyone living with disability/additional needs.....from very young toddlers through to the age of 65, we have a program that will immerse them in movement, fun, music, games that can help with self regulation, help increase fine and gross motor skills and making new friends.

One project that will be taking off will be called The Groove Gang. This would fit perfectly if you have a school leaver or young adult who is looking for activities to do during the daytime hours when kids are at school. We are turning our space into a hub for Community & Social Participation. The program will include activities such as karaoke, art, games, drumming, Disco nights, Movie nights - basically a place to make new friends and get out of the house. If you are interested for yourself or for any of your family members, please give us a call on 0408 535 842 to arrange a Meet n Greet and see if we're the right place for you to get out into the community and enjoy yourself!

After school programs for school aged kids start from 3.30pm with limited spaces available. Get in quick to secure your spot and let us help you along your life's journey.

Hello everyone! Well Christmas is coming, as is 2026. This year has been rough for a LOT of people, including my family. Losing Mum was the worst of it and now my Darling Dad is putting up the best fight he can, with his battle with Alzheimer’s. So this year has been like being on a see saw but on the bottom end. . HOWEVER, 2026 has some VERY exciting changes and activities that we will be offering people. Community and Social involvements. Groups doing lots of different things. So keep those eyes peeled for what’s coming up.

My family & I wish you all a happy, safe, heartwarming Christmas and NYE with family & friends. Keep your eyes open to see what is happening from January/Feb 2026. - for holiday fun!

Helloooooo Everyone! After a lovely camping trip down to Northcliffe with our awesome Daisy Dog, we're now back in the Studio ready for Term 4. Lovely airconditioning means that our space stays lovely and cool, even on the hottest of days and we're acquiring more instruments and fun games to suit all of our clients needs and interests. Our sessions come under "Community and Social Participation" in Core Funding. After enjoying a well deserved break in the NT….and enjoying the perfect hot days up here exploring, the Studio will be back up and running as of Tuesday this week. (5th August). Looking forward to seeing familiar faces and some new meet n greets. After a draining 7 weeks following the passing of my Mum and helping Dad through his grief, our Studio will be reopening tomorrow, Monday 28th April. We’ve got a lot of new interest in our page & Studio, which is wonderful! Term 1 starts this week….Community & Social Participation is so important for all kids and adults. Whether they have a disability/additional needs or not. Aaah, the long weekend! Only one more week until the kiddo’s are back at school. It's January! It's getting to that stage in the holidays where parents MAY be starting to wonder what to do to get their kids off screen time and into some activities that get them moving, shaking and having a heap of fun and most importantly, using their minds! We are holding Music sessions for young kids and Music Workshops for older kids. We're totally airconditioned in the Studio, so it's a beautiful place to be when it's hot outside! Times and age groups are as follows:

TUESDAYS: 14th, 21st and 28th January:

Mini Muso's (Ages 18mths - 4 years) 9.30 - 10.15am
Think Playgroup with instruments! Well known nursery rhymes, songs, games and activities for the littlest of Muso's to enjoy!

Mighty Maestro's (Ages 5 - 7) 10.30 - 11.20am
Delving into different tuned and untuned percussion instruments and working together to play along to backing tracks using the wonderful Boomwhacker's, bells and chime bars, games and a lot of laughter.

Dynamic Drummers (Ages 8 - 12) 12.30 - 2.00pm
Using African Djembe Drums and other percussion instruments, both tuned and untuned to create their own soundscape and something to show parents when they are picked up - like a mini concert. Also using "junk" to turn it into fabulous instruments.

THURSDAYS: 16th, 23rd & 30th January

Terrific Teens: (Ages 13 - 18) 10am - 12noon
A chance to meet new friends and tackle a range of Musical activities that allow teens to work together to create a special piece of Music that works by engaging teamwork and helping each other. Can also include instruments if your child plays them (piano, guitar, ukelele, drums) just get them to bring them along. Also, using ideas from the very popular STOMP artists who use everyday items to create awesome music together.

We are fully inclusive, located in Bibra Lake and have airconditioning, toilet facilities and lots of space to have fun. So if the kiddo's are driving you up the wall, get them into something that's fun, engaging and gets them away from their screens for a while.

Well we made it to the end of the year….its been one filled with rocky times for our family, but we’ve gotten there in the end. Thank you to everyone who was very understanding and supportive.

We will be closed until Tuesday 14th January, when we will be opening for some School Holiday Musical Fun sessions. I will be making a schedule and posting it soon, but am looking for “Expressions of Interest”, either in the comments below or via a DM, or send your contact details to me on 0408 535 842, so I can put together a program with sessions to suit your Child’s/Adult’s ages. Let’s bring 2025 in, with lots of fun, games, lots of laughter & of course MUSIC! We’re looking forward to hearing from you to secure a place in the Holiday Program.
