Children develop from the bottom up. That means:
🧡They must first feel safe and regulated (brainstem),
💛Then be able to connect and manage emotions (limbic)
💚Before they can think, plan, and learn (neocortex).
Integrating primitive reflexes is foundational to brain development and learning because these reflexes form the building blocks for higher brain functions. When primitive reflexes remain unintegrated beyond infancy, they keep the brain “stuck” in survival mode — interfering with emotional regulation, attention, motor coordination, and ultimately access to the thinking brain (the neocortex).
If your child struggles with emotional outbursts, focus, or coordination, their brain may be stuck in survival mode. Let’s talk! Book a free 15-minute call to learn how reflex integration and brain-based therapy can help unlock calmer, more connected learning.
