📣 YOUR VOICE IS NEEDED! 📣

A 96–120MW DATA CENTRE is proposed for Stirling Crescent in Hazelmere - just 40 metres from the Mandoon Bilya (Helena River) and right next to homes, Helena River Waldorf School, and a Conservation Category Wetland.

It would be an ENORMOUS high-power facility, requiring its own power transmission lines and substation, millions of litre of water a year, and with sufficient capacity to power 60,000–90,000 homes.

Our review of Perth-based data centres indicates that all existing facilities are located on sewered land. It appears this is Perth's first data centre proposed without government sewerage or viable wastewater disposal. This is a VERY dangerous precedent to set, especially within 40 m of a river, a Conservation Category Wetland, and a primary school.
_______________________________________
❗ Why We’re Concerned - our review shows the proposal is:

❌ Inconsistent with the Local Planning Scheme, Structure Plan, State Planning Policies and water management guidelines.
❌ Incomplete.
❌ Lacking the most basic of site investigations.
❌ Missing essential technical information.

It even contains basic errors, such as repeatedly referring to the “Henley River”, showing a complete lack of due diligence.
________________________________________
🚨 Key Risks & Serious Gaps include:

❌ No sewer connection and no viable wastewater plan.
❌ No soil, groundwater or stormwater testing.
❌ Unquantified and massive water use.
❌ No technical basis for stormwater management.
❌ Inconsistent and unresolved power supply details.
❌ No information on fuel storage for 88 generators.
❌ No assessment of emissions, heat or night time light.
❌ No foreshore management plan.
❌ Significant unresolved risks to the river, community and environment.

With so much missing infromation, the City of Swan and the community cannot properly assess the proposal, which is exactly why your submission is SO IMPORTANT.

A 14,000sqm data centre equivalent to an 8 story apartment building is proposed for recently bulldozed bushland opposite Helena River Waldorf Primary School on Stirling Crescent in Hazelmere. Losing the bush was bad enough -
Residents and locals are encouraged to lodge their objections before 5pm THIS Friday.
A request for extension by the school was denied :(

What you choose to do with your own body and your own diet is entirely yours to decide, but our scope is safe & playful movement and education 💖

"Diet culture places thinness at the height of success and beauty and perpetuates the idea that a person is morally 'bad' if they gain weight or live in a larger body. It also conditions a mindset there's a 'right' and 'wrong' way to eat and encourages unhealthy practices around exercise and eating." - Psychologist and Butterfly Foundation leader, Anila Azhar

1️⃣ Pilates focuses on developing dynamic strength, which means you are better able to support and stabilise your joints while moving. Research suggests that Pilates is an effective method for reducing injury risk in other sports - in fact we have some elite professional sportspeople at Vital Beat, using Reformer as a complementary movement practice.
2️⃣ By working with breath, Pilates improves cardiorespiratory capacity. This stimulates endorphin production, oxygen flow, and blood circulation. But combined with its low impact nature, it leaves you invigorated rather than fatigued.
3️⃣ Pilates is a mind-body practice that enhances proprioception, or awareness of your body in space, stabilising the lower limbs for posture and walking stability, which means less falls risk. The attention inward and ability to focus on the sensations in your body heightens your awareness of comfort or pain, your emotions, identifying internal cues like fatigue or hunger, and your surrounding environment.
4️⃣ Research shows that Pilates helps boost immune system functioning, especially in older adults. These findings suggest all ages could experience a boost to immunity through Pilates, mainly because of improved circulation, and healthy lymphatic system stimulation & drainage.
5️⃣ Pilates has been researched significantly as a very powerful tool for managing generalised or non-specific lower back pain. Research has also shown that it’s not necessarily the micro movements or clinical adjustments that are as effective as simply just getting moving in a safe and low impact way, with a focus on mobility and abdominal strength. A general fitness class has been shown to be just as effective as a clinical rehab setting, for non-specific generalised LBP.
BONUS ❗️
6️⃣ You get guns. 💪🏼 💪🏼 Gaduuuussshhh!!
