Should we be telling kids to stop lining up toys?
NO WAY!
So many parents have told me that they were told that if they keep redirecting their child to play in other ways then they might be able to avoid a diagnosis of autism š
Why does this make me sad?
Lining up toys is not something that we only see in autistic children.
Lining up toys might be your childās way of creating order in their world.
Lining up toys is an interest for your child and therefore an amazing opportunity for us to join them in their play and add language to the experience.
Lining up toys is a form of play and all play is play. We donāt need to teach our kids to play a certain way.
So if your kids are lining up toys (like my daughter does with her figurines in the picture), let them š«¶
