I’ve been trying to find a quiet time to do a post…it’s been awhile. Lotions & Potions has pretty much been on the back burner as my priorities have been my ageing Mum and my job. It’s been a stressful time and very sad to watch Alzheimers take over such a vibrant and life loving person. She was the heart and soul of our family and we laid her to rest this week 💔
This has been another reminder that we should all be living our best lives, removing stress, making memories and finding some peace. So new beginnings it is..dropping down from working a full time job to working 3 days/week which then leaves me 4 days to create new products, grow my herbs 🪴 , coffee ☕️ catch ups and sunshine ☀️
I hope you hang around as I try to get my little business to flourish 🍃 😊

What a sad state of affairs for this time of the year..my lab bench should be full of lots of goodies being made, but no, it’s empty 🙃 I’ve spent the last 2 weeks being stuck at home after taking a nasty spill on the driveway and not being able to move around much. My shadow 🐈💕 was happy to be sitting on my lap for a lot of that time 😊
So much been going on with stressful family stuff the last few months and just no time for me to get into doing what I love. Thank goodness for my beautiful sister who has helped with all the things we needed to do.
I did manage to get a few bits and pieces done a few weeks ago and stocked at The Micro Collective, I’ll post later about those 😊 I’m hoping to get my s**t together for 2025! 😂

Beyond the ordinary with a touch of the unexpected!
I haven’t had much time of late to work on my own little creations but these have been a good seller at The Micro Collective over the past few weeks 😊 (They are kind of ready on the website 🥴)
These have approx. 30 hour burn time and only $14.95ea. Made from natural soy wax, phthalate free, body safe oils made in Australia.

Yes I must! Even us coffeeholic people find a need for tea to calm the soul 😌
Those that know me will know my excitement of finding this tea set recently. No it’s not going to sit on the shelf and collect dust (use your nice things everyday, nothing it too nice to use), it’s going to be christened very shortly 😁 Clocking off for an hour to go sit in the sun before the rains come and chill out. There might be a cookie or two in the Cheshire Cat 🤭

A quick update on the deodorant making 🌱 I am really happy with the effectiveness so far but I’m not an athlete 😂 so when samples are ready I hope there will be some more active type people who will try it out.

I think I went a bit overboard with the beeswax, it’s pretty hard and crumbly..probably ok for the summer months. The big problem with this batch is it’s very gritty, (but ok once applied and probably helps with absorption), which I’m sure is the zinc oxide. Next batch I will grind it up a bit and see how we go 😊 I don’t know why but I’m feeling “patchouli and lime” for the next batch…what fragrance (EO) would you like to try?

Petrichor! Who doesn’t love that beautiful earthy scent of a forest 🌳 floor after the rains 💜
Perfect day for this new special candle that really does live up to its name. Hope you all stayed safe last night in that horrendous weather! Loving the much needed rain, especially for the farmers.

I have a new, somewhat different, collection coming this week in these amber jars that suit any decor. Priced at only $14.95 as everyone should be able to enjoy a candle. All Phthalate free, natural soy wax and made with skin safe oils.

There will also be a new certified “no synthetics used to create this fragrance” in a natural candle collection coming too…the testing is endless and not a lot of options available but I’ll keep plodding along.😬

Couldn’t help myself, had to bring some supplies with me and create something 😂 I’ve been wanting to make a natural deodorant forever but there was one ingredient I couldn’t get in Australia…until recently.
Those little beads of magic 🔮 in the picture are from zinc salts from fatty acid found in castor seed oil. It eliminates odours, traps and absorbs odour molecules, neutralises odour causing bacteria without blocking your sweat glands. I’ve melted down those beads, beeswax and some botanical infused shea butter then added some kaolin clay and zinc oxide. A good dose of natural antibacterial ingredients 🌱
Once I have tried this out for a few weeks and probably after some tweaks, I’ll be putting out a heap of samples for you to try and gain some feedback. 😊

When there is nothing left in the tank I head back to nature 🍃 with a few bottles of🍷 and plenty of ☕️ Here at my favourite place down Margaret River way for a few days. Total seclusion…such bliss. Waiting for the rain (which should be very soon..it rained most of the way here this morning) to have a hot outdoor shower, it is truly the best thing ever! Time to reset, recharge, relax and retire? Hahaha I wish! 😂

Do you really need a different oil for every different body part? 😂 Being all natural 🍃 and using the entire plant makes the oil safe and effective for many uses.
By gently heating and infusing botanicals in oil you get more beneficial properties, properties you don’t find in essential oils. I don’t use any essential oils in these botanical infusions and they are nut free. The over use of essential oils these days and the thinning of many plant species is a post for another day!
Many of these oils, all handcrafted, with different varieties of botanicals are available

It’s time to get your cold & flu helpers happening! Chop your garlic in half to release the allicin (the good antibacterial stuff) and let sit for 10 minutes. Pour your local honey over the top and seal it up. You must open the lid at least once a day for a week or 2 to release the build up of fermentation. Let sit for at least 4 weeks. Take a couple of garlic bits every day and use the honey as is or in tea to soothe sore throats 😊🍃
Why local honey? Not just to support your local keepers but local 🐝 collect pollen from local flowers and seasonal allergies are caused by these local flowers/plants. Consuming honey that contains the pollen slowly builds up your immunity against your allergies. So get making! 😊🐝🍃

Seeing as I burnt all my hibiscus flowers 🥴 I’ve put plan B into action. Rose and Frankincense it will be! These are Frankincense tears, a resin or sap from the Boswellia tree that have some amazing skin and anti inflammatory benefits.
These must be ground down to extract the magic parts (Boswellia acid) before adding and heating the oil for an infusion. The acids contain heavy terpenes (the magical part) which Frankincense essential oil does not have. The smell alone is a good enough reason to be using it 😊🍃

it’s just one of those days! 🥴 After 2 months of preparing my hibiscus 🌺 flowers I go and burn them all…along with 2 litres of rice bran and camellia seed oil..it does not smell pretty 😂

Then I received my 100 “black” droppers, except they are white, my fault again. At least they have a cute bendy bit at the bottom to make it easier to get the oil out 😁 If that wasn’t enough I received a box of 100 amber jars - 60ml ones, except they are 30ml. They are very cute but what on earth do I do with them? Any suggestions greatly appreciated!
I guess this is what happens when you order things late at night after a busy day/week/month/year 🤡🙃
