We recently had a display at the Aging Well Expo for 2025, which was a great opportunity for us to engage with friends and family members exploring our personal alarm options. It’s a great way for people to see our devices in person and speak with our team in person – which is so important to us as we love to offer that extra personal touch.

We got to meet clients who already have Guardian Personal Alarms and receive great feedback and testimonials! As well as meeting with Allied Health Professionals from both Perth and the Eastern States where we were able to offer demo kits, further info, and learn as a team how we can assist our shared clients by sharing knowledge and best practices.

We had so much fun building on our relationships with other businesses across Australia as the preferred provider of personal alarms!

Did you miss us at this expo? Don’t worry, we’ll be at the Developing Australian Communities Expo on the 8th of August, so make sure you stop in and say hi if you attend!

So yesterday, we celebrated Christmas in July in the office! Building a team with laughter and snacks and of course, a bit of Christmas cheer.

Enjoy some of the happy snaps from around the office – and maybe get your own workplace into the Christmas spirit!

Our personal alarm models vary in how waterproof they are. Concerning the main models:

• The MediFone can be worn when it's raining without fear of it being damaged, however it cannot be taken in the shower or submerged in water

• The MediWatch is more waterproof than the MediFone and can be worn in the shower but also cannot be submerged in water

For any model, it's always best practice to pat dry the device after it has been exposed to water.

We do offer a Shower Pouch which will protect your MediFone from the soaps and suds and ensure safety even whilst showering.

Happy World Chocolate Day!

Did you know a health benefit of chocolate, particularly dark chocolate, is that it can be good for your heart? It contains flavanols, which are plant chemicals that can help protect the heart by improving blood flow and lowering blood pressure.

Additionally, some studies suggest chocolate can help improve cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease!

So, why not treat yourself? Grab some dark chocolate, a hot cuppa and a good book, then snuggle down and take some time for yourself.

Taking care of yourself – both mentally and physically is so important! The healthier you are in mind and body, the less chance you have of accidents happening around the home.

As always, our Personal Alarms are there as a back up in case the unthinkable should happen.

“This has been a great help in assisting Mum to stay home independantly. She wears it around her neck and when she has a fall, we are notified with a call to my mobile and I can talk to her through this device straight away. Thank you!”

Jackie, client’s daughter.

We love receiving feedback like this, it make’s us feel so good about what we do, knowing that we truly are helping people in need.

INDEPENDENT – BUT NOT ALONE

More Australians are choosing to age in the familiar comfort of their own homes. This decision offers a sense of freedom, dignity, and personal comfort. But independence doesn’t mean going it alone. As we age, it’s crucial to ensure safety, emotional support, and access to emergency help whenever it’s needed.

While independence is precious, it thrives best when paired with thoughtful safeguards. Let’s explore how we can build a safer and more connected life at home.

1. Using Safety Devices

One of the most powerful ways to maintain independence is through discreet, always-available protection. Today’s personal alarms go far beyond emergency buttons—they’re intelligent companions that anticipate your needs.

Technology is revolutionising how we care for our ageing population. At the heart of this revolution are smart personal alarms that provide real-time support and peace of mind.

Guardian’s personal alarms are not just wearable gadgets—they are lifelines. Here’s what makes them essential:

• Automatic Fall Detection: This feature detects serious falls and immediately sends alerts to designated contacts without requiring the user to press a button.

• GPS Tracking: The built-in GPS allows caregivers and family members to pinpoint the user’s exact location in real time during emergencies.

• 4G Connectivity: With nationwide coverage, users can rely on fast and stable mobile networks to ensure help is never far away.

• Two-Way Voice Calls: Users can speak directly with a loved one or emergency responder through the device, providing reassurance and immediate communication.

• SOS Button: At the press of a single button, users can manually alert their emergency contact list in any distressing situation.

• Waterproof Design: Designed to be worn in the shower or outdoors, it ensures protection in places where accidents are more likely to occur.

These features are designed to offer confidence, not just convenience. Loved ones can rest easier knowing help is just a button press away.

WHY we started Guardian Safety Pendants

Hi I’m Lance and this is my wife Jose, Jose used to work for many years as a carer in the Home Care industry and saw first hand the struggles of the elderly, disabled and those living alone and the concerns of their loved ones for their safety.

She heard too many stories of people falling and spending hours on the floor or out in their gardens hoping someone would hear their cries and come to help them. In years past we had sad personal experience of this happening in our own family and we had no way of knowing what had occurred.
