I used to live in the all-or-nothing mindset with food.
Cut carbs. Skip meals. Workout daily.
By week two I’d burn out.

Then came the guilt, emotional eating, and starting over every Monday. Exhausting.

The truth? Restriction and willpower don’t work especially for women 35+ and 40+.

Trying to cut carbs is not for the weak.. until your body, brain, and soul all revolt at once

Truth is, it’s not the carbs.. it’s the relationship we have with food.

Restriction = craving.
Craving = guilt.
Guilt = cycle continues.

This is my take 👇👇

Cutting out your favourite foods never works...

It just makes you crave them even more. Instead of banning chocolate or chips, what if you enjoyed them in small, guilt-free portions?

No more “this is a bad food I will try to avoid this” mindset, no more binge guilt. It’s about balance, not restriction, and learning to care for yourself in ways that truly work.

For so many women, food feels like the enemy, tied to guilt and fear. Diet culture teaches us to label food as “good” or “bad,” turning every meal into a battle.

But food is meant to nourish, energise, and support your body, not punish it. When you see food as fuel and care for yourself with intention, eating becomes freeing, not restrictive.

This mindset shift takes time, but it leads to peace, balance, and a healthier, happier relationship with food.
