Accommodation Vacancy:

We’ve got a beautiful all-female home in Bertram and we’re looking to support NDIS participant's seeking a warm and stable accommodation.

The home is modern, fully furnished, has a swimming pool, CCTV & security, and is just 3 mins from the shops.

✅Have SIL funding? Perfect.
❌ Don’t have SIL funding? No worries – we can still help.

Our goal is to support women and young girls in the community who need safe, stable housing — especially if you’ve been doing it tough.

🌟 Staff & Participant Spotlight: Hayden & Kamal 🌟

Hayden has been with Skout Care for nearly two years. Since transitioning from his family home into our supported accommodation, he’s made huge strides in building independence and learning how to thrive in a shared environment. He’s also earned a reputation as our undefeated champion in bowling and pool!

Hayden has also shown a real willingness to try new things — pushing past his usual routines and stepping into new experiences. While gaming and bowling are his go-to hobbies and what he considers 'fun', he has always kept an open mind and a keen attitude to broaden his horizons.

Enter Kamal.

Kamal brings with him a background in outdoor exploration, having spent years involved in hiking and trekking activities through the Scout movement in Pakistan. With this shared interest in personal challenge and growth, Kamal introduced Hayden to hiking — and the two recently took on a hike through WA’s beautiful South West region.💪

It didn’t stop there. With the same enthusiasm, Kamal and the support team have been helping Hayden explore new opportunities within the warehousing industry. While Hayden already holds a job in this field, he’s now looking to grow into a more fulfilling role and upskill himself — showing the same drive for progress in his career as he has in his personal life.

🌟 Participant Spotlight: Poppy 🌟

Poppy has been with Skout Care for over a year now, and in that time, she has been nothing short of extraordinary. An energetic, adventurous, and kind-hearted soul, Poppy has inspired our team in more ways than one — constantly offering suggestions, asking questions, and never being afraid to speak up for herself.

She brings that same spirit to her work at Good Sammy’s, where she’s known for her punctuality, consistency, and can-do attitude. Poppy reminds us that giving back to the community comes in many beautiful forms, and we admire her deeply for the way she shows up every single day.

This week, we visited Poppy and her incredible support worker, Errin. With a background as a teacher’s assistant in local schools, Errin brings a wealth of experience, compassion, and creativity to her role. Since joining Skout Care, she’s taken huge strides to build a meaningful relationship with Poppy — helping her navigate life’s ups and downs, and celebrating her wins along the way.

💛 Today, we celebrate both Poppy and Errin — two individuals who show us what it means to grow together, uplift each other, and make a lasting impact in our community.

Today we joined Ezra and Ahmed on a shopping trip... 🛒🧃🍪

What may seem like a simple outing was actually a hands-on learning experience as part of Skout Care's Skill Bridge Program! The goal? Pick up some snacks and essentials — but also build on his financial literacy skills.

Before the trip, Ezra created a personalised shopping list with photo references of each item. This list was neatly filed into his folder and used as a guide while he shopped within his set weekly budget. 💰✅

Once the items were selected, the next step was identifying which purchases belonged in which category of his "Money Book" — helping him track his spending, understand needs vs wants, and take more ownership of his financial choices.

These practical steps are about more than just shopping — they’re about building confidence, independence, and real-world life skills. Well done, Ezra! 🙌

🎳 April Group Fun: Bowling Day! 🎳

In April, we hit the lanes for our monthly group event — and what a STRIKE of a day it was! From friendly competition to lots of laughs, it was amazing to see our participants connecting, supporting each other, and having a great time.

Big thanks to our support team for keeping the good vibes rolling and to everyone who joined in. We love creating inclusive, social spaces where everyone feels welcome.

🌟 Exciting News! 🌟

🎉 Congratulations to Hayden for successfully completing an insightful observation session at Challenger StreetWear as part of the SkoutCare Employability Program! 🛍️👕

Hayden was able to learn and observe from a retail store manager about what the job entails and what it takes to be successful in this field. 🏆👔

From these sessions, we hope to give individuals a look into the world of work and break the barriers of anxiousness and lack of confidence. 💪🌟
