“Ask R U OK? Any Day because life happens every day.

Thursday 11 September is R U OK?Day but we know that whether it’s a friend, family member, partner, or colleague , the people around us go through life’s ups and downs every day. That’s why we want everyone to feel confident to check in with the people they care about and Ask R U OK? Any Day.

Our research found that those who are regularly asked, ‘are you OK?’ report increased feelings of wellbeing, and we’ve learned that a third of Australians say they’ve been asking others more often over the past year . That means many of us are already showing up for others in meaningful ways, but when it comes to conversations about how we’re really going, some people are less confident than others.”

We're offering community grants as part of the 16 Days in WA campaign.

The grants must help raise awareness of gender-based violence, align with the theme of this year's campaign and take place between November 25 and December 10.

This year's theme "Stopping Family and Domestic Violence: Play Your Part" calls on everyone to think about their role in calling out disrespect and helping to stop the cycle of violence.

In the midst of all the glamour, entertainment and amazing locally sourced produce was still at the centre of the Governor’s Benefit Ball 2025. We all have a part to play 🧡.

CWSW team member Tinashe Angeline La had the pleasure of joining DVassist at The Governor’s Benefit Ball, hosted by His Excellency Chris Dawson AC APM and Mrs Darrilyn Dawson at Government House.

DVAssist were one of four beneficiaries of the fundraising event and provides vital support to those experiencing family and domestic violence in regional, rural and remote Western Australia.

The evening was a welcome opportunity to enjoy the very best of West Australian culture and kindness, and raise money to support this important work. We were grateful for the opportunity to represent CWSW at such a special event.

Regardless of how messed up everything might look and seem you still have ability and energy (no matter how little) to overcome what you are going through!

We have built in power within ourselves 💚🤍.

Sometimes we need a reminder of our greatness and sometimes we need help to tap back into our own power.✨

For Aboriginal people, health isn’t just about physical wellbeing. It’s about being strong in family, community, culture and on Country.

This Women’s Health Week, we invite you to join us for this special event, to hear from Aboriginal health leaders and service providers, and to consider: how must services and systems learn from and incorporate Aboriginal women’s own definitions of health?

Grab your friends and colleagues and join us 1 September 2025 at the City of Perth Library Auditorium.

Multicultural communities have the solutions of what best works! The structures in their homes, cultures and way of doing are different. We cannot use the same lense!
We have to include their voices if we want to see change, let's not leave anyone behind.

CWSW was incredibly proud to be represented by Tinashe Angeline La at the recent national roundtable focused on addressing the specific domestic, family, and sexual violence issues experienced in Australia’s diverse multicultural communities hosted by Commissioner Micaela Cronin with Minister Tanya Plibersek and Assistant Minister Ged Kearney in attendence.

Tinashe presented on the 'Developing diverse, supported and culturally responsive workforces panel' sharing her insights and expertise to getting better outcomes for refugee, migrant, and culturally and racially marginalised people and families.
