Sam beckford of Edulis Gardening is passionate about creating edible gardens and landscapes. Growing your own food acts as a therapy, fosters community and keeps people healthy, vital and happy. It is also a small-scale, practical response to big problems including climate change and global warming as it sequesters carbon and eliminates the need for huge amounts of unnecessary industry. For the past 50-odd years, Petro-chemical dependant industrial farms have been busy turning vast tracts of fertile land into desert, polluting air and ground water at an ever-accelerating rate and all the time not even producing anything particularly good to eat! So growing your own fresh, tasty, nutritionally DENSE food has never been more appropriate then now... Small-scale organic farms and community gardens are the key to optimum health and well-being of individuals and create strong local economies.. so enough with all that doom and gloom and LETS GET GROWING OUR OWN FOOD.
