🚍 Are you seeing double?! 🚍

Hellenic Community Aged Care is calling everyone aboard - because we've got some brand-new wheels!

We are always aiming to improve convenience and comfort for our residents, and these upgraded buses is another step in the right direction. With improved accessibility features for wheelchairs and mobility aids and increased safety measures, this means smoother rides for all our residents.

We're proud to be consistently making steps towards making our community even more inclusive - no one should miss out on the joy of our weekly adventures 🌳🚌

🥳 National Volunteer Week 🥳

Today marks the start of National Volunteer Week - a time to recognise and celebrate the amazing individuals who give their time, energy, and passion to help make our community stronger.

Our volunteers share one thing in common: a willingness to give. Whether it’s lending an extra pair of hands at our events, cooking meals with love or going above and beyond for our community. Arthur (pictured) is a familiar face at our Aged Care; he visits our residents 1:1, and makes magic happen every year by inviting Santa Claus to visit us! Each act of generosity brings joy and support to those who need it most, and the Hellenic Community of Western Australia thanks you for all you do.

👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️ International Nurses Day celebration 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

At Hellenic Community Aged Care, our nurse's roles go far beyond the medical tasks - they also embody kindness, patience and genuine connection with our residents.

To celebrate International Nurses Day, we hosted a High Tea in honour of our nursing staff. The afternoon was spent with delicious food, music, refreshments and a photo wall! 📸📸

We thank all the nurses at our facility who make incredible contributions to our community every day.

💐 Mother's Day 💐

Hellenic Community Aged Care honoured the beautiful mothers and grandmothers at our facility with a high tea filled with sweet treats, flowers and gifts 🎁 This celebration of legacy and love was shared with so many inspiring women - memories and stories were shared, tea was poured and hearts were so full 🥰

Our residents at Hellenic Community Aged Care celebrated Easter with sweet treats and fun activities! After enjoying some special treats from the Easter bunny, our residents tapped into their creativity by dyeing eggs - a fun, hands-on and traditional Easter activity! 🥚🥚

💃🕺 International Dance Day 💃🕺

Dance is one of our favourite activities we use to celebrate at Hellenic Community Aged Care. It brings people together, expresses emotions, releases endorphins and embraces cultural backgrounds!

One of our facilities go-to dance combinations is the Sirtaki; a very famous Greek dance. Known for its lively rhythm, Sirtaki is associated with community spirit and celebratory mood. Embodying the symbol of unity, freedom and cultural pride, the dance starts at a slow and steady pace that gradually builds. Sirtaki dancing is the perfect way to unite people both physically and emotionally during celebration.

At Hellenic Community Aged Care, we explore all aspects to enhance the physical and mental wellbeing of our residents. Whether they like to dance to their favourite song or simply clap along to the beat, we strongly encourage the liveliness of music and dancing to all of our activities and events.

🇬🇷 Hellenic Aged Care >> St. Andrew's Grammar 🇬🇷

We are so fortunate to be part of such a wide community with so much love to share! Our St. Andrew's Grammar Ambassadors visit the residents at Hellenic Aged Care, to bring a little more joy to their day. The students have performed dance routines, read story books and exchanged stories with our residents.

Sparking meaningful relationships between different areas of our community is important as we continue to grow and thrive. 🇬🇷

🚌🚌 Bus Trips at Hellenic Aged Care 🚌🚌

Did you know we offer weekly bus trip excursions for our residents?

We strongly believe in keeping our residents active and engaged and our weekly excursions is one of our most beloved activities we hold at our facility. These exciting outings are not only a change of scenery for our residents but encourages mental and physical stimulation to enhance their overall wellbeing.

Some highlights of previous bus trips include visiting our local coffee shop and seeing the Christmas lights over the holiday season! With wheelchairs accessible features and comfortable seating, we ensure our residents remain comfortable for every outing.

🌸🌸 Harmony Day 🌸🌸

Last month at the Hellenic Community Aged Care, residents and staff celebrated the sense of belonging, inclusivity and acceptance!

Harmony Day serves as a reminder of the beauty, traditions and strength that comes from different cultural backgrounds to create a diverse and united community. For our Aged Care, this special day was a time to share stories, reflect on experiences and come in their best traditional dress.

This year, we celebrated Harmony Day with traditional food from all around the world, dance performances, a photo wall and prizes including "Best Dressed" and "Best Performance"!
