💛 R U OK? Day 2025 💛
Today, our staff and residents at Hellenic Community Aged Care came together in a bright-yellow show of solidarity to commemorate the importance of empathy, connection – and of taking that moment to ask, “Are you ok?”
Team members from parent organisation – the Hellenic Community of Western Australia Inc. (HCWA) joined the day’s activities including HCWA CEO, Paul Savvas.

“Today was a reminder that a small, genuine question can make the world of difference. Reaching out to one another is the foundation of what makes a community.
Rooted in the values of philoxenia (hospitality) and koinōnía (community), our Greek heritage inspires us to care deeply for one another — especially our elders,” says Paul.

Today’s festivities included an outdoor party - our beautiful garden dotted with yellow as residents and staff came together under a clear, sunny sky.

🎉 Father’s Day Fun 🎉
This Friday, we kicked off Father’s Day weekend in style - gathering friends and family for a toe-tapping party with live rock n’ roll!
🎶 Residents and families were treated to live tunes by the talented Collin Ross from Rock N Roll Express, who performed popular hits and sing-along classics. 💃

🍰 Refreshments were served, as family and friends came together to share memories and celebrate the fathers, grandfathers and father-figures in our lives.

🌞 A Sweet Spring Afternoon in the Garden 🌿
Yesterday, our residents at Hellenic Community Aged Care enjoyed a truly beautiful afternoon outdoors. With the sun shining gently and the sky painted a brilliant blue, our garden came alive with smiles, conversation, and a spark of competition!

From friendly lawn games that encouraged both coordination and camaraderie, to the sweet delight of ice cream shared under the sunshine while golden hits played in the background — what a wonderful way to celebrate the return of Spring. 💛

Creativity in bloom! 🌸

This week, our residents enjoyed a beautiful flower arranging class hosted by our nursing staff.

This activity saw the residents create their own bouquets, bringing colour and joy to their afternoons through excited conversations and pretty flowers.

🫖 High Tea at Hellenic Community Aged Care 🍰
This week our residents gathered for a charming High Tea that brought smiles, stories, and sweet treats to the early afternoon. The elegant china tea set made a special appearance, setting the scene for a delightful tea party filled with delicate finger foods, conversation and even a spot of Greek dancing!
Staff joined in the fun, facilitating conversational games that opened doors to new topics. One resident captivated with tales of her travels to remote corners of the globe, while another resident and staff member entertained with some impromptu Greek dancing!
These moments of connection—sitting, sipping, and sharing—are what make our community so special. ☕ 🫖 💙

🌟 An Afternoon of Crafts, Connection and Kindness 🌟
This afternoon, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Kindness Ambassadors from St Andrew’s Grammar (Years 4–6) for a special visit filled with creativity and connection. 🎨💙

Our residents enjoyed a joyful afternoon of crafts and conversation, sharing stories and laughter with the students. The thoughtful presence and artistic energy of the Ambassadors brought smiles and warmth to everyone involved. 🥰

A heartfelt thank you to St. Andrew's Grammar, WA’s Ambassadors and Miss Toya Muliartha, and to our amazing Hellenic Community Aged Care team for making this beautiful experience possible. It was a true celebration of kindness, connection, and community. 💐

What a beautiful day here at the Hellenic Community Aged Care Chapel!!! 💙

Residents, staff and visitors were honoured to welcome His Grace, Bishop Elpidios of Perth, who led a special Greek Orthodox Divine Liturgy right here onsite for our residents.

The Chapel was filled with warmth, tradition and the comforting sounds of prayers. It was truly special to see our community come together in faith and celebration.

A huge thank you to His Grace for making time to be with us, I know it meant so much to everyone 🙏

🚍 Are you seeing double?! 🚍

Hellenic Community Aged Care is calling everyone aboard - because we've got some brand-new wheels!

We are always aiming to improve convenience and comfort for our residents, and these upgraded buses is another step in the right direction. With improved accessibility features for wheelchairs and mobility aids and increased safety measures, this means smoother rides for all our residents.

We're proud to be consistently making steps towards making our community even more inclusive - no one should miss out on the joy of our weekly adventures 🌳🚌

🥳 National Volunteer Week 🥳

Today marks the start of National Volunteer Week - a time to recognise and celebrate the amazing individuals who give their time, energy, and passion to help make our community stronger.

Our volunteers share one thing in common: a willingness to give. Whether it’s lending an extra pair of hands at our events, cooking meals with love or going above and beyond for our community. Arthur (pictured) is a familiar face at our Aged Care; he visits our residents 1:1, and makes magic happen every year by inviting Santa Claus to visit us! Each act of generosity brings joy and support to those who need it most, and the Hellenic Community of Western Australia thanks you for all you do.
