KINDNESS
MAKES LIFE BETTER
The power of kindness is so underrated and so healing.
Maya Angelou once said that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.
Have you ever wondered how you make others feel?
Or considered, how you make YOU feel?
Because how you feel your way through every day, impacts your wellbeing and everyone you interact with.
It’s a challenging thought.
And even more challenging when you realise how dark, ugly, and fearful thoughts (and the negative stories that we replay in our heads, over and over) affect our state of being - physically, mentally, emotionally, and our affect our energy too.
We get wired (stressed) and we get tired (exhausted) from being in a constant cycle of reactivity and neglect.
Chronic stress is a fearful response to pressure, demands, and perceived threat.
Anger and blame is a fearful response when our needs are not met.
Sadness becomes our state when we hold on to what no longer is.
And we become exhausted, when we don’t nurture our wellbeing (neglect), and give up hope for change and a better life.
AND all our responses to life come from the stories we tell ourselves.
That’s where kindness can become our cure - kindness to ourselves and others.
