Join us for a rare open-air evening of Dhrupad, one of the world’s oldest living classical music traditions. Through breath, resonance and deep listening, its ancient tones unfold slowly beneath the night sky on Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar.
Featuring Pandit Uday Bhawalkar with Sri Pratap Awad on pakhawaj in the Art Sanctuary’s natural amphitheatre.
A quiet, immersive listening experience held by land, trees and evening air.

If you missed experiencing our natural amphitheatre during Perth Festival, this is a gentle second invitation.

On Sunday 15th March at sunset, we’ll gather again, this time for a Dhrupad immersion under the stars at the Art Sanctuary.

Dhrupad is one of the oldest living forms of sacred sound. It doesn’t entertain. It attunes.
The tones move slowly, deliberately — allowing the nervous system to settle and the space itself to begin listening.

As the light fades and the sky opens, the amphitheatre holds the sound in a way that feels both grounding and expansive.

If you felt the call but couldn’t make it before, this is your moment.

Join us at sunset.
Pack a picnic and something warm.
Arrive early enough to land, bring your family, all welcome
