Endometriosis affects 1 in 7 women by the age of 49 years.

For those with endometriosis, the symptoms can vary from mild to debilitating. It can greatly affect quality of life, causing pain, emotional distress, bloating and digestive upset and negatively impact fertility.

We can offer support with Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine by:

💫Improving blood flow in the pelvis. (Where there is poor circulation, this gives rise to inflammation and pain in Chinese medicine).

💫Supporting the liver to promote detoxification and reduce inflammation.

💫Balancing the hormones. (Endometriosis is often associated with an excess of estrogen.)

💫Aid in improving digestive function and reducing bloating.

💫Providing stress relief and regulating the nervous system.

In Chinese Medicine dietary therapy, the colour of each food reflects its ability to support a corresponding organ system. When we eat the rainbow, we nourish our bodies holistically. If we have a weakness in a particular organ system, we can also increase a particular food type to aid in recovery.

More recently, there has become a greater understanding of the importance of gut health and the gut microbiome. Eating a wide variety of colours and whole foods supports the diversity of good bacteria in the gut. Having a diverse range of gut bacteria is associated with greater health and wellbeing.

So add some colour to your plate. Your organs will love you for it 💜

What is one of the most common things we do in clinic? Support women to create and maintain hormonal balance.

Lifestyle choices and environmental factors play a significant role in influencing hormone levels and overall hormone health.

Making mindful decisions regarding diet, exercise, sleep, stress management, and environmental exposures can help maintain hormonal equilibrium and support long term health and well being 💜

Drawing on thousands of years of knowledge, Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture can be used as both preventative medicine and for aiding recovery during illness.

We can provide you with support to strengthen your immune system, to ward off the germs, and help you recover if you do become unwell.

You can help your immune system out by:

💫Prioritising rest and sleep (7-9 hours)
💫Eating warm, cooked, whole foods (bone broths, soups, etc)
💫Rugging up! Stay warm. Particularly protect the neck and back from cold and wind
💫Incorporating stress relief practices into your day (meditation, breathwork, acupuncture)
💫Moving your body with gentle exercise such as walking, yoga or tai chi
💫Staying hydrated with room temp water and herbal teas (ginger is our favourite)
💫Reducing alcohol, stimulants, processed foods and refined sugars

To accommodate those who are too unwell to attend a clinic appointment, we now offer Express Telephone Consultations to prescribe individualised herbal medicines during illness.
