It’s with a slightly heavy ❤️ I announce Liz Lang Physio will no longer be operating.
I am moving on to bigger and new challenges in the women’s health field. I hope to make an impact on even more women’s lives in my new role.

What is dry needling?

Dry needling is a technique I use to help release tension or trigger points from tight muscles. This is just one part of a comprehensive treatment session I provide to you, always with consent.

Evidence for dry needling use in Physiotherapy has increased substantially over the past decade. Research supports the treatment of acute and chronic back pain, chronic neck pain, tension and migraine headaches, pelvic girdle pain, lateral elbow pain, and shoulder conditions. I find it very useful in pregnancy, post partum and for some with pelvic pain.

Women need more strength training and less cardio, particularly as we approach 40 and beyond. It has been noted in research that only 20% of women are getting enough strength training in.
Given our muscle mass starts declining around the age of 40 and has a particularly big drop around Peri menopause and menopause as hormone changes accelerate the loss of lean muscle...we need to ensure we are doing something about this 🏋️‍♂️
Women are primed for endurance, it’s the strength we need to work hard for.

One of the causes of pain on the outer side of the hip is ‘gluteal tendinopathy’.
This condition is more common in females, especially;
🏋️‍♀️ those peri menopausal or menopausal due to hormonal environment
🏃🏻‍♀️ young runners with a cross over gait
💥 those with a high BMI
Treatment involves educating you about the condition and minimising compression, load management and a graded exercise program.
