Family-owned and operated, Fertility North was established in Perth's northern suburbs in 2002 by Drs Vince Chapple and Jay Natalwala as an alternative to busy, city-based practices. Fertility North moved into it's new purpose-designed and custom-built location, with state-of-the-art facilities in 2014.

July is Fibroid Awareness Month - a great moment to talk about just how common fibroids really are.

The term IVF is commonly used to describe fertility treatment as a whole, but when it comes to fertilisation, there are actually two main methods: IVF and ICSI.
👉 IVF (In Vitro Fertilisation) - Eggs and s***m are placed together in a dish to fertilise naturally.
👉 ICSI (Intracytoplasmic S***m Injection) - A single healthy s***m is selected and injected directly into the egg.

ICSI is often used in cases of male infertility or where previous fertilisation attempts were unsuccessful. In 2022, 56% of embryos transferred across Australia & New Zealand were fertilised using ICSI, not conventional IVF. Both methods are part of modern IVF and your doctor will recommend the one best suited to your individual treatment.

To ensure we can begin your treatment on time, we need both your consent forms and screening bloods completed and returned before or on Day 1 of your cycle.
✔ Signed consent forms are a legal requirement that ensure you're fully informed
✔ Screening bloods expire every 12 months and must be up to date

This is especially important if you're planning back-to-back treatment cycles. Please check your paperwork ahead of time to avoid delays in starting your next cycle. If you have any questions about returning forms, please call Fertility North on 93011075.

While a short period of abstinence (1-3 days) can help optimise s***m count and quality, waiting too long can have the opposite effect. Older s***m are more likely to lose motility and DNA integrity, which can impact fertility.
