I’m again doing the MACA 200 Ride for Cancer Research to Mandurah and back on 4-5th October to help raise money for cancer research.

The event is all about raising money for cancer research for The Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research in Nedlands.

This is the 7th year I’ve participated in this fund-raising event and over the 7 years I’ve raised just over $69,000 to date (the website only shows that last 5 years) & my ego is telling me it’d be nice to make it to over $70,000 & then I can hang up my Lycra & riding boots😊 .

Dr. Moucho holds a double degree in Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Clinical Chiropractic from Murdoch University. As the first female African-Australian chiropractor, she brings a unique perspective and a deep commitment to inclusive, patient-centred care. With a strong foundation in evidence-based practice, she is passionate about supporting her patients on their journey to better health and wellness.

Immune-Boosting Spaghetti Bolognese 🍝🛡️

Ingredients (serves 4):
400 g lean beef mince (or turkey/chicken mince) 🥩
2 tbsp olive oil 🫒
1 onion, finely chopped 🧅
3 garlic cloves, minced 🧄
1 carrot, finely diced 🥕
1 celery stick, finely diced 🌿
1 red bell pepper, diced 🌶️
400 g canned chopped tomatoes 🍅
2 tbsp tomato paste 🍅
1 tsp dried oregano 🌿
1 tsp dried thyme 🌱
1 tsp turmeric powder ✨ (immune-supporting!)
Salt & pepper to taste 🧂
1–2 drops food-grade lemon essential oil 🍋 (optional, for a fresh twist)
350 g wholegrain spaghetti 🍝
Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish 🌿

Instructions:
Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
Sauté onion, garlic, carrot, celery, and bell pepper until softened 🥕🧅.
Add mince and cook until browned.
Stir in chopped tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, thyme, turmeric, salt, and pepper 🍅✨.
Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Cook spaghetti according to package instructions 🍝.
Optional: Add 1–2 drops of food-grade lemon essential oil to the sauce just before serving for a fresh zing 🍋.

Citrus Ginger Immune-Boosting Chocolate Bites 🍫🍊

Ingredients (makes ~12 bites):
100 g dark chocolate (70%+) 🍫
1 tsp fresh grated ginger 🫚
1 tbsp chopped nuts (almonds or walnuts) 🌰
1 drop food-grade lemon essential oil 🍋
1 drop food-grade orange essential oil 🍊
Optional: a pinch of cayenne 🌶️ for extra circulation

Instructions:
Melt chocolate gently in a double boiler or microwave in short bursts.
Stir in ginger, nuts, and essential oils.
Spoon mixture into silicone molds or mini cupcake liners.
Chill in the fridge for 30–60 minutes until firm.
Pop out and enjoy a zesty, immune-supporting treat!
