From Dr Dan Pursers Emails:
Where We’re Headed
I believe we’ll soon see clinics dedicated entirely to homocysteine health — because this single molecule connects to nearly every chronic condition we see today.

PCOS. Fibromyalgia. Fatigue. Inflammation.
They all tie back to the same underlying issue: your body’s ability to detox and convert homocysteine properly.
If you have high homocysteine, there’s almost always a genetic reason.

We look at 17 key SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphisms) that can cause hyperhomocysteinemia — the medical term for elevated homocysteine.

The most common ones?
MTHFR C677T
MTHFR A1298C

If you’re homozygous for either (meaning you inherited the variant from both parents), you’re very likely to have high homocysteine — unless you’re severely malnourished.

That’s why testing only blood homocysteine levels isn’t enough. If you’re malnourished, your homocysteine might look “normal” even when genetically it should be high. Genetic testing tells the real story.
Nearly every woman I’ve treated with PCOS (polycystic o***y syndrome) has had a homocysteine problem.
