To some people, 3km might not sound like much.
But I know there will be another woman reading this thinking:”I can’t even run 500 metres.” And this will be inspiring for them.
Everything is relative to where YOU currently are in your journey. If you are in a constant state of comparing your journey to others remember it’s you vs you and that’s enough! 🩷

Most women still think exercise is only “worth it” if it burns calories or changes their body.

But honestly, The biggest reason I am so consistent with exercise even during this messy time of motherhood is because….

I feel so much BETTER when I move my body.

Better mentally.
Better physically
More patient.
Less stressed.
More resilient to life.

Not every workout needs to be your hardest session ever to have value to your wellbeing.

All movement and exercise counts.
So if you find it a hard stop thinking of exercise as something needed to change your body and start seeing it as a tool to HELP you feel better and actually give you more energy.

If you want to simple way to get started with exercise again from the comfort of your home, check out The momentum hub, link in bio.

You get workouts, nutrition and daily habits that are realistic for mum life and will leave you feel so much better within yourself all for only $11 per week.

The number one thing I find people need when trying to improve their health is accountability. Having someone to help you stay on track with your action as without it it’s very easy to tell yourself “oh I’ll just do it another day!” If you are someone who struggles to take action than investing in a coach not just to help provide you direction of what to do, but to help support you, guide you and hold you accountable.
Do you struggle to hold yourself accountable?

I used to think exercise only “counted” if it was a proper gym workout.

Sweaty session.
Weights.
Structured plan.

And whilst yes, strength training is incredibly important (especially for women 👏🏻), I think so many mums end up doing nothing because they feel like if they can’t get to the gym… it’s not worth it.

But movement still matters.

Playing in the garden with my son this afternoon gave me another 2k steps without even really thinking about is.

No, it’s not the same as lifting weights.

But it IS still supporting my health.

It’s helping my heart health.
My mental health.
My energy levels.
My stress levels.

And honestly, I think we underestimate how much these small pockets of movement add up over time.

So if structured exercise feels hard right now don’t underestimate the value of simply moving your body more.

Walk with your kids.
Dance in the kitchen.
Play outside.
Take the longer route.

It all counts. Hit like or save if you needed this reminder 💪🏻.

It doesn’t need to be in salad. It doesn’t need to be cooked. It’s doesn’t need to be looking aesthetic- just eat it! This is your reminder to grab a veggie and eat it! 🥕🥒🌽🥦

Fun times incoming….Not! 😵‍💫

This decision is a huge one and not something I have taken lightly.

However seeing what my sister is currently naviaging.
Having 2 x young kids
Knowing I have a increased risk of ovarian cancer and there being no way to do surveillance on it
This is the decision that feels best for me.

I’m not looking forward to it and I am aware of the risks now I place on my body but doing this, but unfortunately am between a rock and a hard place.

So whilst unfortunately I do have to do this, I feel fortunate that I have spent the last 13-14 years building a solid foundation to help support myself as best I can to navigate through it.

If you don’t regularly pick up a pair of dumbbells please let this be a message to gently nudge you to do so, your future self will thank you.

If you don’t know where to start message me and I will help you get started.

Happy New Year 🤍

Towards the end of last year, I made a conscious decision to step back from social media. You might have noticed I was posting less.

Social media started to feel like a very noisy place to be. There’s so much conflicting health and fitness advice, and at times it felt like I was knocking my head against a brick wall trying to compete with much larger accounts that spread misinformation confidently and loudly. It became draining, and honestly, not the best use of my energy.

Since sharing this, I have had several conversations from clients, women and even other business owners wanting to do a similar thing and create more genuine human connection, Less noise. Less Doom scrolling.

So moving into 2026, I’ve decided to focus much more on connection and creating spaces that actually feel supportive and useful.

That said, I still wanted a way to provide value and support you for free, without getting caught up in the constant scroll and comparison that social media can bring.

That’s how Ask Amy was created.

Ask Amy is a weekly email where I answer real health and nutrition questions submitted by you, completely anonymously. No judgement.

No fear-based rules. No selling. Just simplified evidence-led answers with some practical tips that fit into busy mum life delivered straight to your inbox.

If you’d like to receive a weekly email where I answer questions you’ve maybe been too unsure to ask, you can sign up via the link below. I promise I won’t spam you, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Thank you for being here and for sticking with me. 🩷

I’ll still pop up on here from time to time to share little bits of wisdom and the odd tip…
But honestly? I don’t want to spend hours each week creating content for an app where fear-based messaging is getting louder and getting more traction than coaches who genuinely want to help.
It’s really disheartening.

And I also don’t want to wasting time on something make me feel more disconnected than CONNECTED. Instead I’ll be spending more time inside my free community running group Reset & Run and showing up every week in my newsletter.
I’d much rather pour that energy into my clients and helping people rather than support the scroll.

Maybe this will come back to bite me on the bum. Maybe business will dip a little. Who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️
But nothing great ever comes from staying in your comfort zone and sometimes you have to try something different and back yourself.

If you enjoy my content and want to stay connected, I’d love to have you in my newsletter. Drop a 📧 below and I’ll message you to grab your email - your support means a lot 🩷.

Often we get so caught up in calories and “being good” that we forget food is so much more than numbers.
It’s enjoyment.
It’s celebration.
It’s connection.
It’s joy.

You don’t need to feel bad for enjoying food.
Because there is no bad food and the moment you label something as good vs bad, healthy vs unhealthy, “I shouldn’t have this,” or “just a slither” you create guilt where it never needed to exist. ❌

Research shows that people who adopt a more flexible approach to eating rather than rigid rules have far more success with long-term weight management.

We are not robots.
We’re humans.
And we deserve to be part of the celebration not sitting on the sidelines stressing about calories while our kids watch.

I don’t want my kids to see me fear food.
I want them to learn balance.
I want them to see joy.

And the funny thing is the more you restrict something, the more power it has.
But when you allow it, include it, and stop putting foods on a pedestal it loses the pull.
You get to choose it or not choose it — without the mental battle.

That’s food neutrality and that’s what I want my kids to grow up witnessing and building.
