For years, my relationship with my body was built on one thing - trying to make it smaller.Picking apart every fault.Tying my self-worth to whether or not I looked “skinny enough.”And honestly, if you ever been there. It’s exhausting.However, one day I realised I was done living this way. I was wasting so much mental energy I was giving so much power to food.I was feeling so s**t within myself. And I was over it. I worked really hard on my mindset and stopped obsessing over shrinking my body and instead started focusing on strengthening it.When I began celebrating what it could do instead of punishing it for how it looked, I started to begin to like it more. I realised my body was my team mate the thing that carried me around every day and allowed me to enjoy life. It wasn’t my enemy. It wasn’t me vs my body which for so many years it felt like. When I used all the mental energy I wasted on counting calories, food noise, crash diet to instead nourish myself, both mentally and physically.Learnt how to talk to myself kindlyLearnt how to nourish my body with food rather than restrict it. Learnt how to exercise in a way that left my feeling good rather than seeing it as a tool I need to earn my food.That’s when confidence grows.That’s when health actually feels good.If you’ve been stuck in the cycle of “not enough,” maybe it’s time to try a different approach.Because your body doesn’t need fixing. 12 years ago I used to train EVERY single day, sometimes even twice a day because I thought that’s what it took to burn as much fat as possible.And yes, the outcome was a very lean body…But also a very unhealthy relationship with exercise, food, and myself.Health and fitness consumed my whole life. And when it consumes you like that, ever second of the day thinking about food, calories etc it’s not really health anymore.Now, I train 3–4 times a week. Some days it’s strength, some days it’s running, but I always make sure my body has time to rest and repair. Im active move daily usually hitting around 8-10k, but I no longer believe I need to smash workouts 7 days a week to be “fit.”Everyone health and fitness journey is different so you do you, but know we don’t need our whole life to revolve around workouts, calories to be healthy.👉 Fit and healthy doesn’t mean all-or-nothing.👉 It doesn’t mean living in the gym.👉 It doesn’t mean exercise has to be punishment.It means finding a way to move that makes you stronger, gives you more energy, and fits into your actual life not takes it over.One important question to ask yourself is “What’s my intention behind this?” If working out daily leaves you genuinely feeling better go for it, but if you are doing it for a place of feeling you ‘have to’ or need to for calorie burn etc, or it’s takes over your life to the point it’s become your whole life know it’s not required to be healthy. Our health is made up from facets of lots of different areas, not just exercise.

When you stop scrolling on social media and comparing yourself, fitness can actually be inspiring. 😍 I was inspired by so many people Sunday, as was my client who ran her first 5km. 👏🏻🥳 As someone who’s never put herself into those environments I was so proud of her for giving it a go, but I was also so happy she too came away inspired and felt comfortable being there. Not all fitness is 6 packs and body checks, you sometimes just need to look outside social media and gyms to see it in practice.

Somewhere along the way, a lot of us stopped seeing exercise for what it really is.
It became punishment for what we ate, a way to “earn” food, or a chore we should do. It’s not a surprise so many of us hate doing it and it feels like another thing for the to do list.
But exercise was never meant to be that.
👉 exercise gives you more energy
👉 It’s can be fun (shocking for some i know! 🤣)
👉 It makes you feel strong physically and mentally.
👉 It help you lower your stress, improve your mood, makes you healthier and lowers risk of so many diseases.
In my opinion exercise is ONE of best things you can do for your health, yet so many of the world have such a terrible relationship with it stemming from how they have grown up viewing it.
❌Exercise isn’t about shrinking yourself or paying for last night’s dinner.
✅It’s about moving in ways that make life feel easier, lighter, less stressful - leave you feeling great!
I think many of us could benefit from here this reminder today and remember that exercise can actually be enjoyed, it doesn’t need to be punishment and the reason we exercise should be FEEL better, which can happen almost instantly rather than the burn calories!
