It's with much sadness that I wanted to let you all know that Mel passed away today peacefully in bed at home. Thank you for all your support over the years. Our family will be spending the next few days together at home. We'll be touch next week when we are ready. Please respect our privacy at this difficult time. Much love, Simon, Cooper, Hudson, Jensen & Shelby

I'm still kicking along, it's taken me a good week to get over the living wake. I was exhausted but I enjoyed it sooo much. I'm still.seeing visitors each day so contact Si if you'd like to pop in. I see Silver Chain most days for various reasons. I love going out but struggle getting in and out of cars especially if there big 4x4 cars. Love ya. Mel x

Time for a post
Feeling a lot better since pump was removed but we have a out patient appointments coming up and the surgeon may suggest putting it back in which I'm dredding. I was on such strong pain medication that I went into full withdrawal sweats, nausea etc, but that was because we went cold turkey when it should have been a slow withdrawal (thanks google). Anyway, all's good now. Got my Recliner chair delivered this afternoon (thanks for the advice Marti) so feeling more comfortable.

Shelby and I went and got our nails done yesterday lol

The wound is looking slightly better with the daily wound cleaning and repacking, but it's going to take months if I'm being realistic. All from a fatty cyst!

Thank you for all the meals coming in, they've been a great help to our family. We really appreciate the meals, and baking and, friends coming keep me company thank you.

Plans for my living wake are coming along well. Please keep Sat 15th March from 530pm free if you haven't already. Mr Paella will be there. Potentially other food trucks also.

Hi Friends, I've had the vacuum pump removed for the time being. I was having a lot of pain medication which was making me scatch my arms and the pain was just so intense. So having a break again and feel like myself again. It does Silver Chain need to come ever day and repack the wound but it's fine. The wound is definitely looking better.

Having lots of visitors every day, but trying to fit in visitors with Silver Chain plus a nap or two can get tricky, but manageable. I seem to have developed an ability to sleep through anything. Our friend Jonny came and hung a garage door yesterday and I slept through the whole thing lol.

Please message me if your still wanting to visit, next week is a good time. My friend Katherine is here from Canada, and I cannot wait to see her. Plus it's it's Hudson's 16th Birthday on the 21st so lots happening. Love to you all. Xx

Hi Everyone,
I had a little break from my suction pump on my leg wound but have had to have it back on. It's been extremely painfully, drugs have helped! It will heal faster with it on.
I've had a chair lift installed to allow me access to all of the house which gives me back some independence.
Family have been great, getting lots of visitors and nutting out finer details for my "Living Wake"..save the date... 15th March 5.30pm...more details to follow.
Feeling much better emotionally and have my bright personality back!
Love to you all

To my Cheer leading group

I will be honest with you all as you all deserve it. My breast cancer has now spread to my liver, lungs and throughout my lymph nodes in my abdomen. My prognosis is 3 to 6 months and I have stopped all treatment as it's not working and there's no more treatment options. I have pain at the surgical site but that is being well managed by Silver chain and Simon. I'm also having a Living Wake on 15th March that I really hope you can make it to (more dets to follow). It's not going to be a normal wake that's for sure. But in the meantime if you would like to come and visit me please pop in. Love you all Mel

Check out my leg! This is the abcess before they put on the groovy wound vacuum suction machine on. Silver Chain will be cleaning and redressing every 2 days at home hoping I get discharged this afternoon but they're now concerned with very swollen feet and hands, oh dear, it never ends unfortunately
But just had my favourite man deliver me a coffee. So happy now

Oh... feeling so much better. Had a magnesium bath. Dosed up on magnesium. Took extra dose of Olanzapine after realising it can be used for Neuropathy pain, panadol and ibuprofen for my painful calves after cramps now feel so much better. Plus have hydrated myself to the hilt. My urine has gone from dark brown to pale straw and I'm cross at myself for letting it get that bad. Lesson learnt. Had Silver Chain Carer come in today to give me a beautiful shower so feel like a Queen and all is good. Kids have all had mates over but they've played beautiful . . Amazing how 24hrs can make. Online yoga tonight Bliss 🧘‍♀️

I've been very quiet on Ecup lately. Lots going on. I've now got a wheelchair. As I'tsĺ in the hospital bed and no one heard me. Once they'd stopped I gingerly got out of bed and had Magnesium and pain meds and managed to go back to sleep but my calves are so sore. The hospital bed is an ongoing issue, my clothes are upstairs and the shower chair is downstairs anyway we'll make it work. Siverchain are coming in twice a week to help me twice a week and Si is helping me the rest of the time. Dressing is hard. The left side is hard We'll get there one day at a time. Thanks everyone. Xx

CRAPOLLA! Had CT, MRI and PET scan this week and got the results this week.

There were concerns about shortness of breath but all good had it checked and there's no blood clot but will be put on blood thinners regardless. there is however more spots on the lung and liver, so going to be put on more chemo.

There's more spots on my liver also some enlarged so I'll be starting chemo asap. so back to blood tests a few days before treatment. im hoping to have chemo at home

the name of the chemo is Vinorelbine and it comes in tablet form once a week, but Ill also be having Herceptin with it which is a transfusion.

theres about a 20% chance of success. i need a heart scan soon also.
