St John of God Midland Private Hospital is a new standalone 123-bed private hospital due to open in 2026.

It will deliver modern, patient-centred care, designed to meet the evolving needs of Perth’s eastern suburbs and the wider Wheatbelt region.

Our new hospital is continuing to progress, with the external facade really coming to life.🌱

This facility is being built to expand access to high-quality private health care for communities across Midland and surrounding suburbs, including the Perth hills and the Wheatbelt. It will offer a greater choice of medical and surgical services, modern facilities and an enhanced patient experience, including a on-demand, in room dining service.

We can't wait to welcome our first patients in August this year! 🧡

Our new hospital will showcase stunning public artworks, including vibrant murals and sculptural elements across the building and surrounding grounds.🎨✨

One of these is a striking eight-metre-high glazing mural by Peter Farmer Junior, a Minang, Ballardong Whadjuk Artist . This artwork provides a visual acknowledgement of Whadjuk Noongar Boodja, welcoming patients, visitors and caregivers to the hospital and its Country.

Inspired by the waterways, wildlife and colours of Mandoon Bilya (Helena River), the mural brings energy, movement and a strong sense of place to the hospital.

Morning light over the new hospital.🌄

With the sun rising over the Perth Hills, our hospital sits within the historic Midland Railway Workshops precinct and besides the Helena River. A hospital where heritage and nature will come together to create a place of healing for our patients.

Opening August 2026.

It’s the perfect weekend to introduce Emma Cook, the inaugural Director of Nursing at our new hospital (and a big F1 fan!). 🏁🏎️

She brings a passion for exceptional patient care and is playing a key role in commissioning the hospital and preparing our nursing teams ahead of our planned 2026 opening.
