It’s the perfect weekend to get outside!

The evidence is clear. Numerous research studies consistently show the multitude of health benefits that come from walking. It’s good for our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. It’s also one of the best things you can do for your spine and posture.

• Physical health:
Brisk walking keeps joints lubricated, improves cardiorespiratory function and muscle strength.
https://doi.org/10.3389/fpubh.2021.829367

• Brain health:
Regular walks stimulate BDNF, a protein that helps neurons grow and protects against cognitive decline.
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29078742/

• Emotional health:
Going for a walk can reduce stress hormones and increase feel-good endorphins.
https://doi.org/10.32604/ijmhp.2025.060685

• Drug free lifestyle:
Walking in nature 3x week can reduce the need for medication for anxiety, asthma, depression, high blood pressure and insomnia.

📊 Did you know 56% of Australians are not meeting recommended levels of physical activity?

This increasingly sedentary lifestyle is contributing to a range of spinal health concerns, with neck pain emerging as a prevalent issue.

Prolonged hours spent seated in a desk chair, followed by extended periods of inactivity and screen time like gaming or binge watching, can result in poor posture and weight gain, exacerbating musculoskeletal disorders like neck pain.

Adjust your thinking and join the National Spinal Health Week ‘Movement’ (26 May – 1 June) to get the heads up on tech neck, access FREE resources, and consult an ACA chiro for drug-free pain relief.
