Today, Saturday 25 April, our communities across Australia are coming together to commemorate Anzac Day on the 111th anniversary of the Gallipoli landings. For many, this whole week has been about reflecting and honouring those who have served in times of peace and war.

We were lucky enough to sit down with several veterans in the lead up to today and are honoured to be sharing their stories of resilience, comradery and hope.

The Fairview Brew is officially open! 🥳 Residents from the co-located residential care home and retirement village came together to cut the ribbon and enjoy their very first cuppa at the cafe. The home's newly renovated space makes for the perfect spot for residents to enjoy together or bring their loved ones to catch up.

From Lady Janet Clarke’s tireless commitment to rallying government and community support for those most in need, to Prime Minister Alfred Deakin’s wife Pattie who accompanied our early nurses on their rounds, to our 16,000+ workforce today, Bolton Clarke has been shaped by the vision, hard work and expertise of generations of women across leadership, support and frontline care services.

Green wheelie bins have rolled into our retirement villages across Queensland as part of the first state-wide partnership with Containers for Change QLD. Recycling champions from 23 villages will be setting aside their bottles and cans in a bid to reduce landfill and raise funds for local projects. If you're heading to a Bolton Clarke retirement village in Queensland soon, make sure to keep your eye out for the bins and pop a used bottle in them!🍾

Bolton Clarke Fairview aged care resident Margot is the newest member of the Centenarian Club. Celebrating her 100th birthday on 4th February, Margot was joined by family and friends for the special occasion. She was born and raised in Berlin, Germany before making the big move to Australia in 1950 just two years after marrying her late husband Ulrich and having their son, Ulrich. Margot and Ulrich were initially sent to Bonegilla in Victoria and eventually moved to Redfern where Ulrich was a diesel fitter for an oil refinery and Margot worked at CSR Sugar in administration. The pair were heavily involved in the Freemasons for over 50 years and travelled all over Australia with the organisation. Now, the grandmother enjoys her time at Fairview aged care and has been busy with all the 100th celebrations! Happy birthday Margot 🥳
