About 1 in 3 people will experience shingles during their lifetime. Shingles is a painful, blistering rash caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox, and it is most common in people over 50 years of age. Treatment with antiviral medication may help reduce symptoms and can be prescribed by one of our pharmacists following a consultation, if appropriate. There is also a vaccine available to help prevent shingles. The vaccine is government-funded for eligible people. If you’d like to learn more, come in and speak with our team. Vaccinations can be administered in the pharmacy or by your GP.

Ear infections are common and can be very painful. They can develop quickly and may have a range of causes.

Our pharmacist, Shauna, is now a prescribing pharmacist and can examine ears, assess symptoms, and diagnose and prescribe treatment for acute ear infections where appropriate for patients over 2 years of age.
