The moment you say, “I’m pregnant,” it begins.

Advice from people you haven’t talked to in years. From strangers in grocery store aisles. From relatives who raised kids in a completely different time.

Everyone suddenly becomes an expert on your body, your baby, and your choices.

But here's what I’ve learned: you don’t owe anyone an explanation. You don’t have to follow every tip, every warning, every story shared with you like it’s gospel.

You are the one growing this baby. You are the one who will lose sleep, feel the kicks, carry the weight, and love more fiercely than you ever thought possible.

So take what feels right. Let the rest go.

You’ve got this. And deep down, you already know exactly what your baby needs.

When I complete a final prenatal session with clients, I enjoy going to do some grounding in nature. With the weather being perfect today, I was able to do exactly that. We completed our last prenatal session going over all things labour, birth, breastfeeding, postnatal and what to expect when going home with a newborn. Then I immersed myself in nature.
Clearing, grounding and now I just wait for that special call to advise me it is time to support another beautiful couple as they become parents.

With Mother’s Day almost upon us, I’m doing a Mothers Day giveaway, for one mother or mother-to-be. You can be pregnant, currently postpartum, or be an experienced mother. There’s no limit, motherhood is a forever job 🙌.
We all know motherhood can be beautiful, but there can be some hard days too. Our hearts can be full, but we can sometimes feel completely lost!

People always say it's normal for a baby to be attached to their mom. But the moment a toddler clings to her, suddenly people start calling them spoiled.

Here’s the truth.

That toddler isn’t spoiled. They feel safe. They trust her. She’s their anchor in a world that feels big and unpredictable.

Toddlers don’t have many ways to feel powerful or in control, so they cling to what feels steady. That’s not something to correct. That’s something to honor.

If your child only wants you, it’s not a failure on your part. It’s proof that you’ve created a space where they feel most secure.

And that’s a beautiful thing.

When I am supporting a clients birth, for clients who are open to ‘a little touch of something’, I will reiki the corners of the room, set intentions, put together a crystal grid, set up candles and put up affirmations around the room. There are lots of little things I will do to create a calm, relaxing and positive space for people birthing if they want me to.
At a birth I attended recently I made use of the corner space!

These holistic sessions are not just for reiki, it is an opportunity for you to tell your birth story, or discuss all things pregnancy, or talk through life, go through a guided mediation, reiki and optional soundbowls.

Being a mother
Is wearing your heart outside of your body
For the rest of your life, maybe more
It’s joy, worry, heartache and fear all mixed in
like a wonderful kaleidoscope of love
So many colours

Being a mother
Is bearing the weight of a thousand rocks
On your shoulders, every day
Yet we would bear those rocks and more, gladly
Given the choice
Again and again

Being a mother
Is laughter and noise and messy kisses
It’s soft hugs and salty tears to wipe away
Motherhood is joy like you’ve never known before
With pain and confusion
Am I enough?

Not being a mother
Is the hardest journey for some women to take
They would walk on glass, for eternity
To hold that little soul in their arms
Such grief
Such loss

Having a mother
Is a blessing not bestowed on all
She is your safe place, your anchor, your home
When she is gone, the world is amiss and you’d give
Anything you have and more
For one more hug

For the mothers, the daughters, the aunties,
the carers, the foster parents, the teachers
and anyone who takes a child into their hearts.
You are blessed, you are loved
And you should be celebrated today
And every day
