12 PM today!!!! Free Online Course

My friend Stephanie Pinto (she is absolutely amazing!! 😍💕) is launching her FREE online course today!!! Don't miss out! Join her group Let's Raise Emotionally Intelligent Kids (https://www.facebook.com/groups/letsraiseemotionallyintelligentkids) before 12pm today and watch her LIVE video.

This is what she has to say:
You are in for a TREAT! I want to thank you for being a part of the movement that is Raising Emotionally Intelligent Kids.
I've created a short online course for you to re-ignite your parenting game, reconnect with your kids, AND bring Emotional Intelligence into your home, right now.
The best part? It's FREE.
For a limited time, you'll be able to access this course at NO cost.
Nada. Nothing.
It's not rocket science, but many of us were not raised with Emotional Intelligence. It was a whole lot of "Do this then you can have that", "Go to your room if you're going to be like that". "Stop crying it's not that bad". No wonder dealing with our child's BIG emotions and challenging behavior is so triggering for us.
So, in response to the struggles of so many parents around the world - my new online short course Introduction to Raising Emotionally Intelligent Kids is about to go live!
From the comfort of your couch (or bed!) watch the short video lessons and download the resources too - it's incredible valuable.

How Do I Access It??
1. Be part of my community on Facebook: Let's Raise Emotionally Intelligent Kids (https://www.facebook.com/groups/letsraiseemotionallyintelligentkids)
2. Watch the LIVE video I do there, at 12pm Sydney time today!
That's all... see you there.
❤️ Steph.

How do you put down your baby to sleep?

The answer is "Fully Awake". It is not “half-asleep”, not “drowsy” but FULLY AWAKE.

We as human beings are not meant to move when we are asleep. As soon as we start moving, our brain will think, why is my sleeping body “moving”?? The brain thinks the body is in danger – “Fight-flight-mode” gets activated. That is the reason why moving the "half-asleep" baby in your arms wake when you put them on their cot. The movement brings the baby out of sleep instead of deeper into sleep.

of the week is that instead of carrying her in your arms to sleep, lay them down"Fully awake" on their cot for them to learn how to sleep.

Maintaining Good Sleep Through an Illness

The very first mistake most people make when their baby is sick is that they pull their baby into their bed. Now, I get it. It’s no fun to see your little one suffering.
The truth of the matter is, when anyone is sick, we are going to have much more fragmented sleep. We’re not comfortable. Our nose is stuffy. We’re coughing. There’s no possible way anyone could sleep well and solidly through the night. So, plan for some nighttime wake-ups. It’s just gonna happen.
But, there’s no reason why you need to pull your baby into your bed. After a night or two in bed with you, she could decide that that’s the place she wants to be every night. And, six months later, she’s still in your bed.
So, if you’re really concerned about her, and you want to keep an eye through the night, then go to her. Pull in a mattress or air mattress, sleep in her room for a couple of nights so you can keep a close eye, and respond to her when she needs you, but not the other way around.
It’s much easier to get out of her room than it is to get her out of your bed.

How can I get my baby to nap longer during the day?

This is the one million dollar question for many parents.
It can be very frustrating if you’ve been struggling for 30 minutes or more to get your baby to sleep and then they only sleep for half an hour... often even less.
There are 2 parts to day-naps:
1 - Falling asleep independently.
2 - Staying asleep independently by resettling
(Learning to go back to sleep after waking up too early).

In order to improve both parts, the following will help:

1. Your baby’s room needs to be dark - babies struggle to fall asleep and stay asleep during the day is because there is no Melatonin on board to help. Melatonin is a “sleepy” hormone your brain produces when it gets dark at night to prepare you for sleep. Because it’s not dark during the day, there is no Melatonin but if you make your baby’s room as dark as possible it will help them to fall asleep.

2. Put your baby in her cot awake.

3. Eliminate nap time sleep associations.

Your baby needs to learn how to fall asleep independently. He needs to fall asleep without any help. That means:

No dummy
No rocking to sleep
No feeding to sleep

Sharing with all of you Mummy Christina's review.

We purchased the DIY sleep program when our son was 4 months and it was the best decision we ever made! He went from being up every 45 minutes to sleeping longer and longer stretches. He’s 9 months now and sleeps 12-13 hours straight overnight and can self-settle easily! There really are no words for how grateful I am to have found happy sleepers
