The Road Map to the Body – Series 5
Chest & Heart | Releasing Grief with Quan Yin
Grief lives in the body — often quietly, often deeply — settling in the chest, the heart, and the breath itself.
This fifth journey in The Road Map to the Body series is a sacred invitation to meet that grief with softness, compassion, and presence.
Guided by the loving energy of Goddess Quan Yin, we will enter a nurturing space where grief is not something to “fix,” suppress, or push through — but something to gently witness, honour, and release.
Through slow, wave-like Yin Yoga postures that open and support the chest and heart, the body is guided into a state of safety and surrender. These poses are held long enough for the deeper layers of emotion, memory, and stored grief to surface and soften — allowing the body to do what it knows how to do when given time and care.
Quan Yin, the goddess of mercy and compassion, will be woven throughout the experience — holding us as we explore themes of:
Unexpressed or unresolved grief
Heartache, loss, and emotional heaviness
Tightness in the chest and shallow breathing
The quiet grief we carry without words
This is not about reliving pain — it is about creating space.
Space to breathe again.
Space for the heart to soften.
Space for tears, release, and deep exhalation.
Expect:
Gentle Yin Yoga focused on the chest, shoulders, upper back & heart
Somatic release of grief stored in the body
Compassion-led guidance with Quan Yin’s energy
A deeply calming, restorative nervous system experience
A sense of lightness, openness, and emotional integration
