✔️ Wear extra layers, particularly clothes made from wool or cotton.
✔️ Wear slippers or socks at home to keep feet warm.
✔️ Keep moving even when indoors.
✔️ Check on your older family, friends and neighbours to make sure they are warm and well.

Our local treasure! We very much value you and your work Kirsty

Meet Kirsty Palmer – a true unsung hero of Port Broughton’s Health Service.

If you've visited the health service, chances are you've been greeted by Kirsty’s warm smile at Reception. Kirsty’s role is essential—she’s the first friendly face people see, ensuring everything runs smoothly. But her impact goes even further—she’s the heartbeat of the community, offering kindness, support, and a helping hand every day.

Whether she’s guiding a colleague through a new system, comforting a patient in need, or volunteering with Meals on Wheels, Kirsty lives by a simple but powerful belief: treat others how you’d want to be treated.

Her message is clear: “A little bit of kindness goes a long way. It’s about creating a positive space where everyone thrives—staff and patients alike.”

As the first point of contact at Port Broughton, Kirsty’s familiar presence brings comfort, especially in challenging times. She knows her community, and they know her—that connection is truly priceless.

Thank you, Kirsty, for your unwavering dedication and the incredible difference you make every day! 🙌

Did you know that the temperature under an enclosed pram can be up to 15 degrees hotter than outside?

If you need to cover the pram to keep your baby shaded in warmer weather, use a large canopy, mesh, or perforated sun shield – not a blanket. This will ensure adequate airflow and still allow you to see your child.

Works are now underway to standardise our helipad with in ground lighting and security fencing. This is being funded by the government alongside upgrades to most helipads at hospitals across the state. Our site was designed and built to land heavier wheel based choppers if needed in the future. The oval will be used for MedSTAR landings until the works are complete.
