Barunga Cottages is a small group of two bedroom Cottages which are the perfect independent small home – with a full kitchen, reverse cycle air conditioning, private backyard and onsite parking. Available as rental properties, the Cottages are an easy stroll to the Port Broughton town centre and its delightful foreshore. COMMUNITY

Barunga Community Care offers a range of services to people living in the Mid North, Yorke Peninsula, Lower North, Barossa regions, and everywhere in between. Our services can now be delivered to your home to help you… wherever you live. There are two levels of Government subsidised support for eligible people who wish to remain in their own home for longer. The entry level support services are through the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) which offer assistance with transport and domestic services. The next level of support is a Home Care Package (HCP) which is a personalised package of care customised to suit your needs. It may include services such as domestic assistance, personal care (bathing and dressing etc.), social support, meal preparation, shopping, light gardening, transport and medication support. Private fee for service is also available upon request if you are unable to/or do not wish to use Government subsidised services. RESIDENTIAL

Barunga Homes is an award winning aged care facility, specialising in dementia care. Located in the delightful seaside town of Port Broughton on the Yorke Peninsula, each of the 75 rooms offer an ensuite and outdoor views, and are designed to accommodate couples who wish to remain together. Our holistic services provide our consumers priority access to additional services within Barunga Village, as their health needs change. WELCOME WEEK HAS BEGUN

We are thrilled to kick off Welcome Week at our brand new Barunga Community Care office, now open at The Willochra Home in Crystal Brook!

Join us this week (21-26 July) between 9:00am and 3:00pm and go in the running for our fabulous door prize. While you are here, pick up some information about our retirement, community or residential services — and meet the friendly team behind the support.

You will see we have all-new signage on site, with clear directions to help you find us. As our office is located within the aged care home, and keeping our House Members safe is a top priority, there is a doorbell on the gate — please ring and we will come out to greet you!

We would love to start meeting the local community and introduce ourselves. We are here to support you or your loved ones in whatever way you need.

Our regular office hours will be 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, and you are always welcome to pop in or schedule a visit.

NAIDOC WEEK AT BARUNGA HOMES

Last week, our House Members and dedicated volunteers came together to celebrate NAIDOC Week with creativity, connection and culture.

We enjoyed damper cooking, rock painting, boomerang decorating and a variety of arts and crafts – all in the spirit of honouring the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

A big thank you to everyone who participated and helped make the week so special.

BARUNGA COMMUNITY CARE OFFICE NOW OPEN IN CRYSTAL BROOK

We are thrilled to share that Barunga Community Care now has a local office based at The Willochra Home in Crystal Brook.

To celebrate, we would love for you to join us for our Welcome Week!

When: Pop in anytime between 9am and 3pm during Welcome Week (21—25 July 2025)

This is a great opportunity to learn more about all the services Barunga Village offers — not just Community (in-home care) services, but also our Residential and Retirement options.

FAREWELL AND CONGRATULATIONS TO SUE NOBLE

This morning, we farewelled Sue Noble after eleven years of wonderful service at Barunga Village. Sue began her journey in Gloria's Coffee Shop, where her warm, bubbly and kind nature quickly caught the attention of our Butterfly Approach team. She soon joined them in delivering specialised dementia care at Barunga Homes.

Since starting in 2014, Sue has had a profound impact on the lives of our House Members and their families. Her compassion, dedication and positivity have also made her a deeply valued colleague.

Congratulations on your retirement, Sue. We wish you all the very best for the next chapter.

START YOUR WEEK WITH OUR INTERGENERATIONAL PLAYGROUP

Join us for a joyful morning where our younger and older friends come together to share play, laughter, and connection. We are excited to welcome you to our new Monday sessions (previously held on Thursdays).

Thanks to the support of Playgroup SA, this session is completely free. Gloria's Coffee Shop will be serving a fresh fruit platter for everyone to enjoy. You are also welcome to bring along snacks for your little ones.

Our playgroup is best suited to children aged 0–4 years, however all children are most welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Jingo brings incredible experience in finance, administration, and business leadership, with a background in both the banking and education sectors – plus years running his own successful business.

A familiar face to many, Jingo has a strong personal connection to Barunga Homes through his wife, Jennifer, a proud House Member. He’s also a passionate community advocate, currently serving as Chair of the Barunga West Dementia Friendly Alliance and volunteering widely across the region.
