Our low maintenance homes allow you to do more of the things you enjoy, all whilst feeling safe and secure in our retirement village. The village has a modern community centre with heated swimming pool and gym, caravan and boat parking, a community garden, is pet friendly and has a walking track directly into the heart of Port Broughton. Barunga Community Care offers a range of services to people living in the Mid North and Yorke Peninsula regions, and everywhere in between. Our services can now be delivered to your home to help you… wherever you live. There are two levels of Government subsidised support for eligible people who wish to remain in their own home for longer. The entry level support services are through the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) which offer assistance with transport and domestic services. The next level of support is a Home Care Package (HCP) which is a personalised package of care customised to suit your needs. It may include services such as domestic assistance, personal care (bathing and dressing etc.), social support, meal preparation, shopping, light gardening, transport and medication support. Private fee-for-service is also available upon request if you are unable to/or do not wish to use Government subsidised services. RESIDENTIAL

Barunga Village proudly offers residential care at two welcoming locations: Barunga Homes in Port Broughton and The Willochra Home in Crystal Brook. Barunga Homes is an award-winning aged care facility, specialising in dementia care. Located in the delightful seaside town of Port Broughton on the Yorke Peninsula, each of the 87 rooms offer an ensuite and outdoor views. The Willochra Home, located in the heart of Crystal Brook, continues Barunga Village’s tradition of respectful, relationship-centred care. With 34 fully serviced rooms, it offers both high and low-level care in a welcoming country-style setting. Our holistic services provide our consumers priority access to additional services within Barunga Village, as their health needs change. HIGHLIGHTS AT BARUNGA HOMES

This week, our House Members enjoyed a wonderful mix of activities, from Jenga to the Tovertafel — an interactive table that uses playful light projections and gentle movement-based games. We also shared a lively sing-along with one of our volunteers, filling the week with music, laughter and smiles.

The highlight of the week was a very special birthday celebration for our House Member, Jill. Our House Leaders and Carers organised a heartfelt surprise, arranging for her to sit back in a truck — a meaningful tribute to her lifelong career as a truck driver.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES – MARCH 2026

We are pleased to share our March 2026 bus trip schedule. Our Social Activities program offers an enjoyable way to stay connected, spend time with others and try something new.

We have a great list of bus trips planned for March including a trip through Burra's Redruth Goal and attending the Adelaide Fringe.

HIGHLIGHTS AT THE WILLOCHRA HOME

Our House Members enjoyed a wonderful day at Solomontown Beach, soaking in the sun and enjoying an afternoon tea. They then celebrated Valentine’s Day with roses and balloons then Shrove Tuesday with homemade pancakes.

INTERGENERATIONAL PLAYGROUP - MONDAY 16 FEBRUARY

Join us tomorrow morning for our Intergenerational Playgroup, where younger and older friends share stories, laughter and meaningful moments together.

To celebrate Chinese New Year, we will be creating colourful lanterns in a joyful, hands-on activity for everyone to enjoy.

Parents and grandparents with children under school age are warmly invited, whether it is your first visit or you have joined us before. We would love to see you there!

OFFICIAL OPENING OF OUR NEW BALAKLAVA OFFICE

Our new Barunga Community Care office in Balaklava was officially opened on Thursday 5 February 2026 by Board of Directors Chairperson, Kerrin March and Chief Executive Officer, Elizabeth Carroll.

Thank you to our clients, community members and local leaders who joined us to mark this important milestone.

The office located at 26 George Street, Balaklava is open Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm. You are always welcome to drop in for a chat, make an enquiry, or receive support with your current services.

INTRODUCING OUR NEW BOARD MEMBER

We are thrilled to welcome David Easter to the Barunga Village Board of Directors.

David joins the Board following almost 40 years in the education sector, with roles ranging from classroom teacher to principal. Much of his career has been spent supporting schools and communities across the northern Yorke Peninsula, particularly in Kadina.

David has a personal connection with Barunga Homes through his wife, Jenny, a much-loved and well-cared-for House Member. This connection, combined with his deep commitment to community service, has inspired his interest in furthering his knowledge and understanding of the aged care sector.

He is particularly passionate about advocating for aged care services in rural and regional areas, where the need for support continues to grow.
