It's been a long time in between posting and admittedly I'm not great on the social media side of things so until I get some help it will probably stay that way. In between setting up a new small business for work here's a sneak peek at ideas for art classes end of this year ( possibly next year)

I've always stayed away from charcoal and graphite, you have to really know what your doing or it can just end up messy. Also abstract or just everything abit looser and have fun style. This one will eventually be a colour portrait but I'm having fun so far

Every not for profit has it's own mission statement, which is basically a summary of what the groups intensions are. Painting in port Douglas is to donate art supplies to indigenous children in local and remote communities and to those residents living with dementia verbal and non verbal as a form of art therapy. At the beginning of this year in January I had the awesome opportunity to work for the Qld government reserves in helping the community apply for government grants for those of us who were affected by Tropical cyclone Jasper. I worked alongside salvation army, lifeline, Red Cross, centrelink, volunteers, businesses donating meals, donations of clothing. It was a humbling experience to see what this community can do for each other in times of need

The room is a lot brighter than the photo thank goodness. Wish I could say " back to the studio " 😁 but just happy that I'm finally getting to draw again. Stripping it right back to basics and working on composition, reference points, shading, tones before I paint. For me being self taught, I've learnt that if you practice on your drawing skills first, in a weird way painting is similar ( of course but with colour) in that you have to get all the shading and tones/depth correct or it won't work, just using different techniques. Anyhoo the face I'm working on now is one I'll be doing for awhile and I've looked at this face since I could see. Exciting times

🙂 4th December first official donation drop off, going out to Kurribi Aged care in Mossman. Sharing the love with a few art supplies to the residents. Hopefully in the future I can volunteer some time to do art activities with some friendly faces I remember from when I worked there as a cleaner, for example pictured the lovely Dawn. ( photo taken off Kurribi page)

For the last ever in my mind, I've been putting together an art group that I could travel to the top of Australia and learn about the indigenous art , different cultures and how they use their art to interpret their way of life. I've also wanted to provide different interactive art activities to residents living in aged care, as well as those living with dementia non verbal and verbal as a form of art therapy. I finally put it together 😊
