The Shala continues to hold space during the holiday season.

Moments of warmth and joy can often exist right beside overstimulation and fatigue.

Physiologically, this tug-of-war shows up as a constant negotiation between your sympathetic (“go”) and parasympathetic (“rest”) nervous systems.

Left unchecked, that push-pull can keep the body in low-grade stress mode, depleting energy, digestion, and sleep over time.

Your yoga practice offers ways to rebalance both body and brain.

🫀 Pause between moments: A single full exhale can reset heart rate variability, a marker of stress resilience.

🧠 Anchor attention to sensation: Tuning into breath or subtle movement reengages interoceptive pathways that regulate emotional response.

Even ten mindful minutes a day can change how you experience the holidays, from survival mode to steady presence.
