✨FINDING THE TINY MOMENTS …✨

💪🏼Whilst strengthening my muscles…
👀 I noticed…
⛅️ The morning sun & plant display on the blind.
Flickering, patterns of light, nature.

So even when life gets tough (in this case working through my feelings of “uncomfortableness” as I undertake my disciplined strengthening exercises) one can still connect to the world around us.

Behind the scenes of running a successful Pilates business, many hours have been devoted to updating .act website.

Much adulation to in making this possible.
The tireless hours spent towards making this website as explicit as possible.
And at the core, acknowledging that using the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy(ACT) one can find true satisfaction in life.

Merging ACT within the Pilates studio, has so many benefits, especially towards chronic pain and anxiety.

💪🏼With a RF- Fit 8.15am class.

🗓️ It’s been, and will continue to be a very busy July…
✅Completed another round of .act workshops, focusing on skills to help with anxiety, chronic pain and “being mindful in a busy life”…

✅Presented a very successful presentation to the young South Adelaide Football lads.

✅Presenting a workshop on .act where the main topic involves chronic pain and anxiety up in Adelaide this week.

✅Preparing to bring .act interstate late this month.

✅And of course, delivering Clinical Pilates and Reformer Pilates to the clients that consistently show up.

😊Feeling content, confident and happy.
😊Appreciating this moment, but also recognising that pleasant feelings will come and go, just like any other feeling, whether they be;
* pleasant/ unpleasant
* good/bad
*confident/unconfident
* nervous and anxious/ content

Likewise, we may “stay out of our bodies” if we knew we would experience painful feelings and sensations in there.

🧠 “Oh no, I don’t like this feeling of physical
pain or discomfort.”
🧠 So our mind interprets this physical pain or
discomfort as threatening.

🫨And so the more we fear physical pain, the
more we avoid physical movement, and the
worse we get.

➕Let’s address BOTH the 🧠 and physical
movement to live a value- guided life.

✅Heat
✅Movement and/ or a rest
✅The occasional “pain - killer “ tablet…
✅Alcohol/ food/ chocolate
And so on…

😬BUT… the more frequent and/or the more intense pain experienced, some of your “control strategies” may not be ideal…
Especially…
😐If used a lot
😐has impacts on your physical health
😐are costly
😐and if the pain just keeps coming back… and
back and back…

😐And then stops you from doing stuff that
matters to you…

🤔So how can you make your exercise routine habitual?
🤔So you don’t have to think about how the heck you will incorporate movement daily into your busy life…?
🚶🏽‍♀️‍➡️So movement naturally becomes a part of your life…?

Well, in this case, Helen has stored in the studio her “workout clothes”…
(You would never catch her instructing in her hot pink shorts!)

On most days, Helen will either be doing first thing in the morning or between classes…
* laps around the studio
* Bosu push ups
* Trapeze Table arm rows
* Reformer Jumpboard planks
* Reformer scooters
And
* Hand weight assisted squats and lunges

✅Just a bit of pre-organising to help make this a daily habitual habit.
