Last week.... What a week!!

Amongst the usual client sessions, day to day with business and home life I had two moments that really pushed me outside my comfort zone.

1. Speaking at the Port Hedland Chamber of Commerce Inc Business Afterhours Expo

2. Eye surgery.

Public speaking is something I have been working on for over the last year through my Wellness Collective workshops with a small audience and more visual presence through socials. (Still needs works 😅)

Standing up there confidently sharing about my business in front of a room FULL of people even if it was 5 minutes felt like a huge milestone and confirmation that I can do it and to keep going.

In comparison, a year ago I was almost in tears trying to get through my ABC's at a public speaking workshop!

THEN, my surgery came around 😬

I have had a Pterygium on my eye for some time and knew at some point surgery was coming. I had gotten the dates for my surgery about a month ago and was incredibly nervous as I had to be AWAKE!!

Thankfully with support of hubby, amazing surgeon and hospital staff all went well.

It was a lot for my nervous system and for me to process so this weekend was all about resting, slowing down and spending time with the family.

I'm slowly easing back into things today and back to work tomorrow.

So my reason for my LONG Post:

A little reminder to keep showing up, keep pushing through the barriers that scare you, and trust in yourself along the way. Progress happens one step at a time. 💛

To all the incredible women in my life - Happy International Women’s Day 💜

Today I’m celebrating the strong, inspiring women around me. My family, my friends, my beautiful clients, and the amazing women I meet through my work and everyday life.

Each of us carries our own unique story, shaped by our experiences, our passions, and the purpose that drives us forward.

I feel so grateful to walk alongside so many women on their wellness journeys and witness the strength it takes to care for your health, nourish your body, and keep showing up for yourself.

But mostly today reminds me of the next generation especially my daughter, neices and all the young girls growing up around us. I hope they see the power in looking after themselves, believing in their worth, supporting other women, and following what lights them up.

May they grow up knowing they are strong, capable, and deserving of a healthy, joyful life.

Here’s to the women we are, the women who inspire us, and the girls who are watching and learning from us every day. ✨💜

Helping my clients improve their energy, gut health, better sleep and relationship with food.

These were just a few wins my clients shared with me this week.

So freaking proud!! The hard work, commitment and willingness to keep showing up for themselves is incredible!

Results don't always appear instantly in the ways we expect depending where the body is at but when you keep showing up, making small changes and learning to work with your body instead of against it... your body will respond.

When we support the body with the right nutrition, mindset and nurture the WHOLE system, the changes go far beyond weight loss.

Are you feeling exhausted…
Confused about what to eat…
Frustrated that your body just isn’t responding even though you feel like you’re doing "ALL the right things?"

Before you blame yourself, pause.

It’s likely not laziness.
It’s likely not a lack of discipline.

My daughters lunch today 🍏

I’m sure I’m not the only one with a fussy (or particular!) eater.

Fussy eating doesn’t have to mean unhealthy. It’s about simple changes over time and meeting them where they’re at.

We all have our likes and dislikes but with kids who are more particular with their foods, there can be a few things going on. For my daughter, I truly feel there are some oral/sensory challenges involved.

Generally she eats really well, but by goodness we’ve had periods of refusing, protesting, not opening to trying and so on 😅

School especially has been a challenge, and I’m still navigating and adjusting with what feels safe and comfortable for her.

At home right now she is doing really well with plenty of variety but pack those same foods for school? She won’t touch them! The change in taste, smell, temperature or texture can be enough to throw it off completely.

Today we had a win with adding in leftover taco mince 🙌
Tomorrow? Who knows 😅

Enough protein is something I find tricky in lunchboxes and these are more icky foods. I've tried all sorts from different meats, plant based foods, baking the lot and meh results. I'm choosing not to get frustrated.

Here’s what helps me:

✨ Keep it simple
✨ Don’t overload the lunchbox
✨ Include a few safe favourites
✨ New recipes/ foods. Introduce one at a time
✨ Aim for balance — protein, healthy fats & fibre
✨️ Minimal highly processed sugary snack - This changes cravings and aids in poor gut health

And if lunch isn’t perfect? That’s okay. We can make the most of before and after school instead.

Feeding kids isn’t black and white. It’s patient. It’s responsive. It evolves.

Do yourself a favour and check the ingredients of your butter?

If it contains vegetable oils.... use it very sparingly or consider swapping it out. 🙅🏼‍♀️

What to look for?

Ideal: Grass Fed, pasteurised Cows Milk unsalted butter

Better: Pasteruised Cowd Milk unsalted butter

Ok: Pasteruised Cows milk, salted

No go: Any butters or spreads containing vegetable oils especially if made entirely from vegetable oil like margarines & Nutlex.

Here is why 👇

Vegetable oils (often called "seed oils") are made from seeds that are typically the poorest quality and genetically modified. These oils are usually extracted using high heat and chemical solvents, then refined, bleached and deoderised to make them stable and neutral to taste.

This heavy processing can damage the fats, making them more prone to oxidation (going rancid) and reducing their nutritional value.

Some of these oils then goes through process to hydrogenate it using heavy metals turning it into a trans fat.

This form of fat is the most dangerous kind. Trans fats are strongly linked to inflammation, heart disease, and poor metabolic health.

In Australia, trans fats are not required to be listed on the Nutrition Information Panel unless a specific fat-related claim is made (such as “low fat,” “contains omega-3,” or similar). This means a product can contain hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated fats without clearly showing “trans fat” in the panel.

Bottom line:

Fat isn’t the problem. It is the highly processed, poor quality fat that is.

Always check the ingredients first and choose real, minimally processed fats where you can. Small swaps make a big difference to your health over time ✨
