The Veterans Research Program (VRP) is an initiative of the RAR Association - WA, designed to promote veteran wellness while preserving Australia’s military heritage.

With AVAC’s support, the pilot project has already commenced - empowering veterans as custodians of history, fostering connection through battlefield pilgrimages, and strengthening the ANZAC spirit in our community.

The program also supports the 44th Battalion Association in their mission to establish a memorial in Kings Park and develop resources that honor and preserve the battalion’s legacy. 🌿

Together, we’re building more than a project - we’re creating a living legacy of resilience, remembrance, and respect.

"Veterans - you are not always required to attend MLCOA just because an advocate or the DVA suggests it. There is a time and place for MLCOA, but it should never be the default option.
Good advocacy means working harder: finding the right specialists, gathering independent evidence, and protecting you from poor outcomes.

Today, on World Su***de Prevention Day, I want to pause and acknowledge a topic that is deeply personal to me and central to why AVAC Services exists.

As someone who has walked through the darkest of moments, I know the power of having a hand to reach for, a voice to listen, and a community that cares. I survived an attempt on my own life, and I see that survival as a responsibility: to speak openly, to break down stigma, and to stand beside others who may be fighting silent battles.

At AVAC, we are committed to ensuring no veteran feels alone in their struggle. Our mission is to break barriers to wellbeing, to protect, and to advocate, but above all, to remind every veteran and every family member that their story matters.

Today and every day, let’s continue the conversation, offer support, and remind one another that there is hope.
