March is Endometriosis Awareness Month! You may have noticed us wearing yellow, raising awareness for Endometriosis. In Australia it affects 1 in 7 women by age 49, and is commonly misunderstood. Living with pelvic pain is not normal, and we aim to speak up, break the stigma and educate! 💛

Today is World 🌎 Kidney Day and Port Kennedy Pharmacy wants to remind you to keep up to date with your kidney health! 🩺

Kidney disease often develops silently, so many people don’t notice symptoms until significant damage (up to 90% in some cases) has occurred! If allowed to progress, it may eventually lead to kidney failure, requiring dialysis or a kidney transplant.🏥

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) affects about 1 in 10 people worldwide and about 14.2% of Australians. Luckily, CKD is mostly preventable because many of its risk factors are modifiable. ⭐️

Risk factors include diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease (CVD), a family history of kidney failure and/or a history of acute kidney injury, having a BMI of 30 or higher, past/current smoking 🚬 and/or va**ng, older age (over 60) 🧓🏼, and being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background. (Kidney Health Australia 2024)

Easter Kids Colouring in Competition!! The colouring in competition is back and we have Spot the Easter Bunny 🐰 up for grabs!

There are two age categories 4 to 6 years and 7 to 12 years with a winner and runner up for each category. Visit us in store to pick up a colouring in and drop it back for judging on the 2nd April!
