Mother’s Day isn’t one-size-fits-all.
For some, it’s breakfast in bed, handmade cards, and full hearts.
For others, it’s grief, longing, exhaustion, or just another day of showing up when you feel like you’ve got nothing left.
To the mums who are thriving…
To the mums who are barely holding it together…
To the ones who have children no longer with us…
To the bonus-mums, foster mums, adoptive mums, aunties, grandmothers, sisters — the women who mother in ways that don’t always get recognised…
To the dads who are doing both roles, carrying the emotional load, and showing up every day…
To those longing to be mums…
To those navigating complicated relationships with their own mothers…
Today, we see all of you.
Caregiving isn’t defined by biology.
It’s in the invisible load, the mental juggling, the guilt, the fierce love, the grief, the quiet sacrifices.
However today feels for you — it’s valid.
Be gentle with yourself. 🤍
