Our revolutionary weight loss & gut health program overcomes the challenges & obstacles so you can be the best version of you
My story could be your story.
Back in May 2018 I was chatting with my Best Friend who said she’d lost 9 kilos in a month doing a program called Ph@tt which stood for Putting Health At The Top. My BFF has struggled to lose weight with diet and exercise due to medication, so to lose 9 kilos in a month was just wonderful. Of course I wanted to know more, as I had been struggling with my weight for years. I’d got up over 80kg (officially I was obese according to BMI) and worked hard every week eating well & exercising but never got under 80kg.
Or if I did, it was only just and it was very short lived. Once in around 2002 I got down to 73kg. I was dieting and power walking for an hour every night. That was the skinniest I’d been since I was 21 when my son was murdered and I was eating once a day and smoking alot. I dont know what I weighed then but I was thin but still had chubbyness.
She put me in touch with her mentor and I gathered & researched as much information as I could. My BFF, Kerry, added me to the Healthy Living Facebook group that was full of inspiring stories.
I found out about the 3 steps, the meal plans that will be provided and the basic run down all sounded good. But I had doubts. Of course anyone on a 500 calorie diet would lose weight. But my BFF explained she was not hungry, did not struggle and that the supplements supported her & stopped the cravings which made it so much easier. I knew I struggled with the foods on my “diet” with 1200 calories, I just couldn't believe she wasn't hungry. But I trusted her. Unfortunately the budget was tight so coming up with around $300 out of one pay was just not doable. I discussed this with my mentor, she was absolutely amazing and basically sponsored me. I told her how much I had in my bank account which I could contribute and she, not even knowing me but wanting to get me on board, paid for the rest! How amazing is that!? I am ever so grateful to Nat for doing that.
So of course I ordered! I was added to the recipe page, I researched absolutely everything, I stalked the Healthy Living Page - which was everywhere with the over 100,000 people in it at the time (today it has almost 300,000!). I planned my meals, I wrote my shopping list, I started drinking 3 L of water a day, I shopped & I prepped my meals. I started on the Monday but the goods hadn't been delivered yet, so when they arrived the next day we (my husband joined me) officially started the program. I had actually lost 1kg in the week leading up to starting just by adding in 3L of water a day! I was already impressed by that! Previously I had eaten well & exercised for an hour most days in a week to lose a kg. Including going to Boxing Class once a week! This particular week, on the program, I didn't even exercise! I didn't want to, it was the middle of winter, and I had no time! How cool was that! Losing weight no exercise!
So we followed the program really closely. In full honesty, we werent 100% true to the program. During the month of June we had both of my sons’ birthdays and a camping trip thrown in. We ate as close as possible to the plan but I did have a little birthday cake at each party & even a slice of vegetarian pizza (gluten free). Also a couple of vodkas were drunk at the camping trip. Still, at the end of the month we had lost weight!
I started at 83.5kg in the first 4 days i was under 80 kg! OMG you should have seen my face. I had been struggling for years to get back under 80! And there you have it, it was done in 4 days on Ph@tt! PLUS my energy was astounding! I was jumping out of bed every morning - early! I am not an early bird, never have been. All of a sudden my life has changed! I was energetic all day. No 3 O’Clock-itis! But what was even better, and possibly contributing to this burst of energy is that I was sleeping so well! Rather than tossing & turning & easily waking & having difficulty going to sleep I was now - and almost instantly on the program - was falling asleep quickly, sleeping solidly (excluding a trip or 2 to the loo which eventually settled down) and snoring less. (I actually have an app to record my sleep talking and it’s caught me snoring! I never believed my husband haha- he also was a snorer.)
I continued on then to stage 2, and BAM I had a bad day! I woke with the same enthusiasm I’d had for the first 3 days, but when I jumped on the scales I was shocked. This was the day I experienced a day with no loss. I messaged my mentor and I was devo. She reassured me that it would come off, that it was normal, to keep going. So I did, although it really did hurt! Without my mentor I may just have cracked it and quit.
We continued, and the next day a nice loss came. I was tracking my weight in an app and when I checked in... I’d lost 800g that day! That more than made up for the no loss the day before! I was reassured! At this stage, I was even starting to notice my pants were fitting a bit better!
The losses continued. went up a bit after Birthday party number 1 but lost it the next day and an extra 100g so that was awesome. I kept losing, then on went another 300g after birthday number 2, but again i lost it the next day and another 100g gone! At this point I am absolutely SOLD on Phatt.
The girls at work hadn't really noticed a change in me. But I was sort of trying to hide it. It was in the middle of winter and i was wearing my big over coats & layers, so it wouldn't have been easy to tell. But one day in the tea room, i took my coat off and one girl, Abbi, was like “WTF Valerie you’re so skinny!” Haha. Geez that was awesome for the confidence! You should've seen my smile!
The camping trip - I put on 400g. That’s pretty good - normally i’d put on at least a kilo or 2 ! Lost that in 2 days (plus an extra 100g gone). We stuck really closely to the plan with the food. We didnt indulge in the normal “Beer O’Clock” cheese and biscuits. I did have some off plan nibbles but close to the step 3 foods - pickeled onions, capsicum strips, plain rice crackers, cottage cheese, salmon. I had some vodka & soda with mint & lime tea. Grant however, folded and drank a fair bit of scotch which he paid for and the scales did not please him!
Then came step 3. I was a bit daunted by the Step 3 meal plan & the food quantities. I think I was a little confused about it too. I mixed it up with the 80/20 rule for ongoing maintenance. So I didn't really do it right. I did put on a little bit of weight, but that’s normal in this stage. I was already 10kg down so it didn't really matter!
I’d gone from a 16 to a size 12! Lost 8.5cm on my waist line! I went to my first big public outing - the FAME Awards - where I get to give a speech at the end (as I am the organiser & president of the Port Lincoln City Band). It was amazing how many people spoke to me after and were amazed at how good I looked (even though I had zombie makeup on haha). How thing I was. OMG can you imagine how good that makes you feel? It was pretty good.
My band uniform was swimming on me! I actually had to go to the shops and find smaller size pants. I found some in Kmart and tried on a 12 but they were too big! So got a size 10 and thought “no way” but OMG yes! They fit AND I didnt even have an overhang! I took a selfie in the change rooms. I was pretty excited and thought I was keeping that moment with me forever! I have not been a size 10 my entire adult life!
So it was at this point I’m thinking, “Man, why did I not know about this before I got married,?! Why is this not promoted? Everyone needs to know about this program!” So i asked my mentor how do you get to be a mentor. She explained, I signed up immediately and I posted that selfie on FB. That was the start of my new “career”as a mentor for the Phatt Program!
As part of the signing up I had to send 100 words introducing myself to the founders of the Program so I would be approved. I explained who I was and explained I wanted to share the program coz everyone needs to know about it so they have the choice to change their lives for the better. I was accepted. And here I am sharing the program with many others and hopefully changing the world for the better - or at least my mentees’ worlds!
Full disclosure, I do get paid commission for the products I sell to my clients. I dont get paid to mentor and support. The Ph@tt program itself is completely FREE. It’s only the products you buy that you have to pay for. I volunteer my time to help others that may be similar to me and struggling with their weight or their health. I do it because I want to help people, and I want people to have the choice and I want to improve the world. That’s me and that’s what I do.
And that is my story.
