Whaaaaaat!
More Professional Development coming at ya!

Completed Sounds-Write training this week.

📚🖋Sounds-Write is a highly effective, structured, linguistic phonics program. It draws upon well-established theories of learning and teaching, shown to improve reading and spelling outcomes and accelerate learning.

We are now stoked to announce that our Ash has completed this course & is ready to deliver this evidence based program to clients.

🌟 Today marks the beginning of Speech Pathology Week 2025!

🌱 This year’s theme, “Impact Through Communication”, is a wonderful reminder of why we love what we do—supporting people to discover and embrace their unique ways of communicating.

❓So, what does “Impact Through Communication” really mean? It’s about how communication changes lives. Each day this week focuses on a different aspect of that transformation:

1️⃣ Connection – strengthening bonds with loved ones, family, and communities.
2️⃣ Confidence – enabling people to express themselves proudly and in their own unique way.
3️⃣ Inclusion – making communication accessible for everyone.
4️⃣ Empowerment – giving individuals the tools to advocate for their needs, opinions, and care.
5️⃣ Opportunity – opening pathways in education, employment, and beyond.
6️⃣ Wellbeing – supporting emotional and mental health through meaningful communication.
7️⃣ Independence – fostering autonomy and self-expression throughout life’s journey.

💗 We feel privileged to walk alongside individuals as they overcome barriers and build meaningful connections with those around them. Communication is about more than words—it’s about relationships, dignity, choice, and possibilities.

🙌🏼 Let’s celebrate every voice, every journey, and every way of communicating.

Adult&Aged Care Speech Pathology

Communication and swallowing disorders affect many people and this can lead to poor quality of life and adverse outcomes such as hospital admissions with pneumonia.

Hastings Macleay Speech Pathology is a private practice in the Hastings Macleay Port Macquarie region and specialised in adult and aged care communication and swallowing disorders.

My name is Carly, and I am a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist and director of HM Speech. My husband Dan and I moved to Port Macquarie with our Cavoodle Winston in 2019. My vision and commitment is to provide the opportunity for people living in this area to access mobile private services for treatment and management of all different kinds of communication and swallowing disorders. My special interest is degenerative neurological disease such as Motor Neuron Disease and Parkinson’s.

Home visits, group therapy, individual treatment and assessment, NDIS, Aged Care Facilities, Chronic Disease Management Plans are services which HM Speech offers.
