Community Pantry Update

Our Community Pantry is now located inside our office at reception (previously out the front).

📍 Shop 2/17 Short Street, Port Macquarie
🕗 Open Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm

The pantry is here for anyone who needs a little extra support—please feel free to take what you need, while being mindful of others in our community who may also be doing it tough.

If you’re in a position to give, donations are always welcome and can be dropped off at reception.

We’ve had such a wonderful turnout so far, and it truly makes us so happy to help—even in this small way.

We are absolutely blown away by this incredible portrait painted by our talented Art Splash participant, Lucynda 🎨

The detail, the care, and the emotion in this piece of her aunty is just amazing — and we’re not just saying that… take a look! Honestly, I don’t think many of us could come close to creating something this special.

A huge shoutout to our wonderful facilitator Sandi, who has been guiding the group through these stunning portraits. The growth, confidence, and creativity we’re seeing is truly something special.

There is nothing quite like the sound coming from our Art Splash room each Tuesday and Thursday — the laughter, the chatter, the pure joy. Watching participants walk into the office with smiles from ear to ear, proudly showing off their latest artwork, is something we never get tired of.

Well done to all of our amazing participants — and to Sandi for creating such a safe, encouraging space for everyone to be creative, connect, and have fun 💚

Last year, Tegan took to the stage as part of Stars of the Hastings, lighting it up showgirl-style.

Not only did she deliver an incredible performance, but she also took home Best Dressed and helped raise awareness and valuable funds for an amazing cause.

This year, she’s back… but with a twist! Tegan has been invited to return as a dance teacher 👏

Alongside her long-time friend and talented dancer Macayla, she’ll be co-choreographing a showgirl-style routine for the wonderful Aria Beautiful.

We couldn’t be more excited to support Aria and this incredible journey. Get ready for glitz, glam, and a show — we know it’s going to be amazing ✨

Support Workers Wanted – Port Macquarie

We are currently looking for multiple Support Workers to join our wonderful team in Port Macquarie on a casual or contractor basis.

Shifts Available:
Monday to Sunday (varying days and times)
Day and afternoon shifts available
Overnight shifts available

About the Role:
You will be supporting clients with a range of needs, including personal care, daily living tasks, and community access. We are hiring a mix of support workers with varying levels of experience.

Requirements:
Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent)
Current First Aid Certificate
Current enrolment in Cert III may make you eligible for paid placement opportunities

Experience:
Experience is highly regarded, however on-the-job training will be provided

We Are Looking For:
Reliable, compassionate, and professional individuals
Strong attention to detail
Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
Confident in redirecting behaviours where required
Non-smokers (essential for some placements)

High Care Positions Available:
We are also seeking experienced support workers for high care clients with complex needs. These roles require:

Availability during school holidays
Overnight shift availability
High level of reliability and commitment
Ability to work collaboratively with independent support workers
Physical fitness to keep up with an active young client
A mature, calm, and patient approach
Ability to closely monitor and respond to complex care needs

We’re pretty sure we’ve cracked the secret to a great workplace… because now our staff are missing it while they’re on leave!

We currently have two of our amazing office team taking some well-earned time off — and both have messaged to say they miss being at work!

Not going to lie… we’re taking that as a big win 🥳

A little belated, but no less heartfelt — this week we celebrate Babbs and her incredible 3-year anniversary with Support Services For You!

Babbs first joined us as our receptionist, and over the past three years she has become such an integral part of our team. In the last year and a half, she has stepped into a more diverse role as our Administrative Assistant and proudly serves as Leanne’s right-hand woman, helping keep all things scheduling running smoothly.

This transition has been nothing short of seamless — a true reflection of Babbs’ dedication, adaptability, and commitment to excellence.

Babbs is amazing with both our workers and clients. She is approachable, easy to talk to, and always ready to lend a helping hand. Her willingness to go above and beyond never goes unnoticed, and she plays such an important role in creating a supportive and positive environment for everyone she works with.

This space isn’t always easy to navigate. Expectations are high, systems are complex, and community confidence can feel fragile at times.

Rather than focusing on how we explain our work, we focus on how we do it — showing up consistently, staying steady under pressure, and continuing to prioritise wellbeing even when things feel complicated or unclear behind the scenes.

At its core, NDIS support is about people. When individuals feel known, respected, and supported as humans — not moved through a system — trust follows naturally. That’s why we take the time to tailor supports, move at a safe pace, and stay connected during change or vulnerability.

One of our wonderful clients has started her own little business venture, hand‑making beautiful key chains—some personalised, some simply pretty, and each one completely unique and made with love 💛

She has a small selection currently on display in our reception area at Shop 2/17 Short Street, and they’re available for $10 each.

While this venture is entirely her own (we’re not involved in making or selling them), we’re proud to support and promote her amazing creativity and initiative. Items can be collected from our reception, and we’re more than happy to help connect you.
